well out of the people who posted here, it is 7-1epsy wrote:That's how I read it.
Nobody complained at that time, and now, some(=you) are complaining about it. You are still not, especially not everybodythe majority
durka, 1200, lacka, k-yo, me, empha, and shock are for it.
You are apparently the only one who likes it. So yes, it is "the majority."

Why don't we all go jump off a cliff and see what happens...epsy wrote:So let's all stay in caves. If nobody goes forward, nobody does.owned wrote:why do we even try something new. I see no reason to try other than the fact that about 3 months ago a major server did.
Nobody complained about score_hole in fortress until we had a discussion of whether or not it should be used in a competitive tournament. It does not surprise me that your team was one of the few (2-6 was the final vote) that wanted score_hole to be on. But still, 2-6 is more convincing than 1-everyone else.epsy wrote:Nobody complained at that time, and now, some(=you) are complaining about it.
You are truly being irrational and a complete Badmin on this topic epsy. Yes, it's nice that you're reviving the TST, but why go against the population and put in a "stupid" bonus of points, just for "fun."
The community wanted a TST - done? [YES] NO
The community wanted score_hole 0 - done? YES [NO]

Fast and automatic.Goodygumdrops wrote:Why is the whole sign up method done the way it is?
I really didn't like the way it was done before(ie. forum threads), but if you're talking about seeing who's registered or not, it's on my TODO-list for long but I'm loosing both time and will here.I would much prefer the sign ups to be on a forum thread where it is completely transparent what is happening.
Then the partner doesn't confirm, or, if you didn't make me loose my time on this thread, there would be also an "infirm" link in the confirmation mails, and the goddamn team edition form. What happens in a situation where a person signs up with a partner that doesn't want to play with them?
Now, regarding the holing points. The holing points are in and I've never been willing to discuss it. Play the TST or not, and then tell me if holing points ruined your playing experience. The decision is definitive, for the 2008.11 season, that said.

Am I the only one finding this to be quite ridiculous?epsy wrote:Now, regarding the holing points. The holing points are in and I've never been willing to discuss it. Basically the entire thread has stated reasons why we should get rid of hole points, yet you (and only you) insist on keeping them in.
I'm totally lost and confused.
Am I missing something?

easy enough, I'll not play
edit:
holing points ruined my experience: their inclusion in the settings caused me not to play

Last time I checked this thread was a discussion emph oO
I was against hole pts...just because..well..why have them
Though seeing that epsy really wanted to have hole_score in this tst (more than I didn't), whatever, I'm willing to go along with it and see how it turns out. If it sucks then yeah, I don't see hole score being a part of future tst's.
Also I think epsys earned the right to include this since I know he spent alot of time organising & making the site etc. & I don't see anyone else organising one any time soon.
End of the day I don't care enough about scole_hole 10 to not participate in this tourney :>

I guess that's answered by kyoNobody complained about score_hole in fortress until we had a discussion of whether or not it should be used in a competitive tournament. It does not surprise me that your team was one of the few (2-6 was the final vote) that wanted score_hole to be on.
..yet every team (bar x & ds) decided against hole pts which was used in cafe & every other used fort servAnother thing is that we are all trained to play without the score_hole, it changes the strategy, and less good players could beat better players just by 'controlling' the way they get points...
playing with some rules almost no one used in the last 3 months will make the game random...

That doesn't sound like there is any discussing possibleepsy wrote:Now, regarding the holing points. The holing points are in and I've never been willing to discuss it. Yeah, if the majority wants that setting, i could live with it, but telling us here that the majority wants it while everybody is negative about it ....Hoax wrote:End of the day I don't care enough about scole_hole 10 to not participate in this tourney :>

Well you missing the point I'm getting at. Is that really worth being so stubborn & not playing in a tourney for (epsy aside); all im saying.DDMJ wrote:That's not really the point I'm getting at.Hoax wrote:End of the day I don't care enough about scole_hole 10 to not participate in this tourney :>
I just don't think it is "right" that the tournament organizer is going against the suggestion of seemingly everyone.
I hope everyone just plays & just gets some experience from it so the next tst will be even better..
