Here is the post from the Ladle thread, followed by the proposed changes below. The idea is to extend the capabilities of server owners who already have these responsibilities in their own Ladle servers to the other servers as well. This should make Ladles run smoother and faster and be less frustrating in the event of a crash.
On the wiki: Ladle/Operations. -- Rewrite the Global Moderator description.
On the wiki: Ladle/Challenge Board. -- Add a list of Global Moderators.A Global Moderator is a server owner/player who acts as a subordinate to Team Leaders. In case of a mid-match server crash, a GM may be called upon to set the previous score using the SLAP <-x player> command. Global Moderators may also be called upon to /OP <7 player> Team Leaders who lack proper authority. A GM may be called upon to kick a spectator to make room for teammate who can't get into a full server. And in some cases, a GM might silence a spectator who is clearly harassing Team Members. GM's can only act at the request of both Team Leaders. They have no authority to interfere in a match in any way. They hold no powers of judgement. They are purely assistants.
Currently, the above will be the current owner/players: Jip, noob13, sinewav, zero. I guess Z-Man and kyle can be in there too, but I think Z-man is always admin, right?Global Moderators

In ladle.cfg -- Add the following:
Code: Select all
ACCESS_LEVEL SLAP 2
Come Ladle time, GM's will be given level 2 authority. And pretty much that is it. This is a very small change that should have a big impact on those rare occasions we need it.
