Well, there's the Miles Davis connection, area native, and his talk of there being a "St. Louis sound" of trumpet playing. And there's St. Louis Blues, a blues standard by WC Handy that later became a jazz standard. Those are pretty specific, however.

While there's "Kansas City Jazz," St. Louis isn't really identified with a particular style of jazz. (It did figure in the history of the creation of jazz, what with it being a center of ragtime and blues popularity.) There is, rather, the style of "St. Louis Blues."

We were located in NYC at one time; can't remember if that was before or after Chicago. Obviously, the Harlem connection really worked there.
