not really, it was just a sort of thing that made sense at the time. It allowed for teams to form more easily, which was great at the time.

6v6 is fun too, certainly. Perhaps we should try 7v7, when the next quarter voting comes up. Why not try it?

I'm a big fan of odd numbered teams. More flexibility.

iirc, mkay is right in that we switched to 6v6 because of lag issues. I know that's why I voted for the change.

I think there is an argument that can be made for odd numbers being a more offensive game, as the strong side now has equal numbers to the opponent's weak side. In even numbers the strong side has fewer players on it.

(Strong means the side in which the grind offset is an advantage.)

Lag was definitely an argument for the switch, but hardly a major one, at least from my reading of that thread.

7on7 would give more options in grinding.

I would go for 7v7. But 8v8 is just wayyyyyyyy tooooooo laggy. A euro in a usa server or an american in a euro server will just get random invisible walls like the fort cup :/

Lets start a list of popular professional sports with an odd number of players per team:

Association Football
American Football
Basketball
Baseball
Cricket
Rugby

Roller Derby?
