What about some kind of simple feedback page for ladle servers
If some servers are being routinely slated they can be replaced

That's an excellent idea.

Hey, is there some sort of bot that can be written to periodically check the Ladle servers and report back pertinent information? I don't know what kind of information, that's not really my area, heh. I'm thinking something like dlh's gridstats.com, but with a performance rating for servers. The information can be aggregated to a score, and that score could determine if the server should be used for competitions. This should also put to rest people's concerns about bias when brackets are filled - servers would be considered simply acceptable or not acceptable.
Also, as sketchy as TSP servers are at times, we don't have another choice really. It's not like we have a ton of servers to choose from for Ladle. Gene is incredibly generous to offer these too us month after month. Sure, we might be able to convince some people to donate - but every month? Remember, one factor in "reliability" is how often that server is available to play in.

That's nice to hear =)Desolate wrote:On a positive note, Pru's server handled very nicely.
I am sorry about that.Desolate wrote:There was only one major lag that cost our team a round(which can end up being crucial, but only one.)

I was thinking about pretty much the same (well actually it's way different , but the result is the same).sinewav wrote:Hey, is there some sort of bot that can be written to periodically check the Ladle servers and report back pertinent information? Something like a capacity test (maybe that's something to add to 0.4?) which displays the server handling extreme situations.
This might also be useful for people that hire servers to show off with their "stats"
