The luck factor has been reduced... significantly
Mecca's Sumo Arcade is now open for business! (no quarters required)
1000 points for a kill
3000 points for winning the round
0 points for capturing a zone
25000 or best after 10 rounds wins the match
Hosted by TaZ
Check it out and leave feedback on the server (not about how you think its gimmicky (Phytotron)) here please!

Re: The luck factor has been reduced... significantly
I find this server rather shallow and pedantic.
(Cool server, bro!)

Why not 1 point for a kill, 3 points for winning the rounds and first to 25 or highest score after 0.01.. wait.. still 10 rounds..(?)Mecca wrote:1000 points for a kill

Re: The luck factor has been reduced... significantly
it really has nothing to do with jumbo sumo other than the high scoreing :\

Re: The luck factor has been reduced... significantly
Yea mecca started making this server like what 2-3 weeks ago before jumbo sumo was even up.

Why would you edit the max rounds? That would not make sense.Titanoboa wrote:Why not 1 point for a kill, 3 points for winning the rounds and first to 25 or highest score after 0.01.. wait.. still 10 rounds..(?)Mecca wrote:1000 points for a kill

Note how my server is called "Mecca's Sumo ARCADE", arcade games usually have scores in the thousands.
The arcade scoring idea came to me before sumo existed when I had made my first server hosted off of my computer.
TX JUMBO sumo also seems to require higher score values because splitting 60 points between 11 people would not end well.

i like it a lot. forces people to actually move around and take zones rather than camping and let others do the dirty work.

Re: The luck factor has been reduced... significantly
Its funny, Luck begged me for the Jumbo Sumo config. I said that it was not mine to give, because it is not. I also explained that you can type in console commands to find out stuff. One thing that I did not explain, is that it is better to get ideas from a config, but come up with your own ideas. Personally, i do not care for the arcade scoring. I find that the Jumbo Sumo scoring is a better system. Simply put, it uses good math, and nice high numbers can be earned. But, it retains the style of scoring that Sumo started with. Also, I have noticed that the scoring seems to work in a manner that is very similar to sumo, but is truly new.

My scoring system is meant to be a LMS system. From asking random players the general consensus was 1 points for a kill and 3 points for a round win. I just multiplied them by 1000 to add the arcade theme.compguygene wrote:Its funny, Luck begged me for the Jumbo Sumo config. I said that it was not mine to give, because it is not. Woa woa woa let's calm down buddy. I told you that i wanted to make changes to it. It had nothing to do with Mecca's server. I wanted to try some different things with the game play but I like the scoring in that server.compguygene wrote:Its funny, Luck begged me for the Jumbo Sumo config.
