GMT doesn't observe Daylight savings Time/Summer Time, which is what you would have found out with a simple google search

... I know that, but a lot of people do. That is why i wondered if we were going to change the gmt times (subtract hour) or update the timezones properly (add 1 hour)

6 vs 6 sounds great. Less lag, new tactics, more teams. And the people can find players easily.
But you all are saying rounds will be shorter, and I dont agree. With less players we will have more way to split, less defenders or midfielders, less chances to be killed, and I think rounds will be equally long. And with good players with more space will be longer. And less points for killing people.
I would reduce the score needed to win a match too, if you dont want to do a endless 32 teams ladle.

Timezones change name when that happens (eg. CST/CEST)

We said Pooo-key ;-)

And yes, smaller teams (of 6) means more total teams, means bigger draw sheet, means more matches throughout the day. The timing of matches won't necessarily be n'sync (LOL!). This means more team leaders and admins have a lot more work to do, and things to be aware of.

Also if the draw holds 32 teams, and for example say there are only 22 teams signed up for, it can get a little messy (or perhaps not...) trying to figure out who gets bye and what-not. Perhaps there should be a strict dead-line to sign up with the minimum # of required players so there is a little bit more time to set up the draw and review it...

I mean matches to 80 points, for example.
I dont know if you said it, because it is impossible to read all this topic at once. This is too much long. Concord, Compguygene, DDMJ or 1200 could write a tron novel with their thoughs.
Good luck for organizers. :D

Yea! Let's call it TR3N!

As I said, I can be reasoned with.

You guys are right and I am wrong...i like the idea better, lets try it!
There is no right or wrong, we're just testing out different possibilities.

But with 8v8 4 players don't die immediately at the start (usually :P), so it might take 30 seconds for 4 players to die which leaves 12 players on the grid. So that's an extra 30 seconds per round. BUT, again, that's not always the case since the 4 players that die might all be on the same team resulting in 8v4, a big advantage for one of the teams.

Anyways, let's just move on from that discussion; 6v6 it is.

Same with the U.S. timezones:

EST (Eastern Standard Time) changes to  EDT (Eastern Daylight (Savings) Time)

Is it me, or is "We are still attempting to have runners up! If your team loses, continue into the semis. The winners of these will meet in the runners-up final." not true? Also, concord can you add a link to the wiki page in your post?

Dude, I totally tried to get a login for that site and I still can't get in with the info they sent me. Don't they have a module to plug into this site or something? I"m still not 100% sold on it, but interested.
