newbie wrote:thanks for the good work, i'm not sure if anyone has mentoined it yet but the difference between 2821 and the latest alpha is about 200fps in ct team sumo server with 12 players :)
the difference isn't 200fps for me since I rarely get over 100 in the first place :S

for me they were dropping from 300 to 50 instantly as the game started and it used to be very choppy, jumpy and uplayable despite having still 50fps, now it rarely goes below 300 and i haven't played such a smooth game for ages 8)

Relative to 0.2.8, yes, a lot: ftgl, freetype and boost. Relative to 0.3.0, also yes, zthread and, I think, ruby (although that may be disabled for now). Posting the first error would help.

Are you using the latest osxlibs package? I updated it on Jan. 15th.

Trunk needs an updated ftgl. I'll do that after the utf8 branch is merged into trunk.

Oops, sorry, thought this was the 0.3.1 thread. So: what dlh said.

Thank you for the info, i will retry the build and keep you posted with future errors.

Edit: This was the result after having updated the Libs.

That's just one error: the process_files script doesn't find config_common.h.in. Odd. Provided the script is executed from the Mac OS directory, the path to the file is correct, and it was included in the tarball. And I built from that tarball myself.

I've been looking out for “Walls surviving over to the next round” but I haven't seen it for some time. I don't think this one should be a release blocker.

Not sure about the other bug there, “Cycles turning invulnerable”

Time to start the rc process?

I haven't seen the Walls surviving after round bug since z-man's first shot at fixing it, so I concluded that attempt was successful.

I've looked around the code and didn't find any immediately obvious error that may cause this, so we need actual steps to reproduce for this.

Yep. On it. I'll do a test build, then tag 0.2.8.3_beta1, then do a real build.

Done. Beta 1 is available on http://beta.armagetronad.net and sourceforge. I'll also upload them to launchpad.
