incredible
Nothing has changed on our side of things, so please think hard about this one: between the time Armagetron was working and the time it stopped working, what has changed on your computer or internet connection? Everything might be important.
And while I have your attention, could you tell us what fixed this problem of yours? In case someone else gets it, I'd like to know how to help.

Let's try this: Follow these instructions:
http://aolsvc.aol.com/onlinegames/sling ... lhelp.html
but replace slingo.exe with armagetronad.exe.

You're not blocked from my master server, I can say with confidence.
(I haven't used a firewall ban since 0.2.7.0 was the current version)

Yep, we can't accidentally ban someone from all masters. It requires coordination of all master admins, is a lot of work and never has been done.
Yeah, I figured it would look different, but for all I know, that AOL thing is just a re-branded McAffee Personal Firewall, so thing should look similar enough, and those were all the step-by-step docs I could find. If they don't apply, I'm afraid you're on your own; what you should need to know is that the name of the executable is armagetronad.exe and that it communicates over UDP port 4533 to 4540. Find both firewalls' block lists and remove both the executable and the ports from it. I know of no other explanation for your troubles than a too restrictive firewall.
And I really, really would like to know what fixed your last problem. Really. I wouldn't repeat asking that otherwise.

Well, there's of course this way: you need to set the firewall configuration back to default. Uninstalling and reinstalling the AOL thing should be enough for that, I don't know what to do about the XP one. Last resort, of course, is a full Windows reinstallation.
Then, when you run Armagetron the next time, do so in windowed mode. Your firewall software will give you popups as Armagetron tries to access the network, and you just have to tell it to allow that and memorize the choice.

There is still the firewall of Windows XP around, I don't think you can remove it. But you can disable it, or give specific programs access, here's how: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/usin ... ewall.mspx
