Can you please state your question so I can understand it? I don't think anyone else understood that either.

What do you mean by “in alpha”? Do you mean the alpha versions of arma, like the 0.2.8_alphaYYYYMMDD versions you see on the server list? Those are servers compiled directly from the SVN sources (no releases). I don't suggest you run one of those if you don't know what they are ;)

Then ask epsy :) The zombie code requires Pig's patch, I think. For that, you need
- a development system. You need a compiler and all that.
- the arma source. Pig's patch is based on 0.2.8.something, so you can take a regular release. No need to go into SVN.
- you need to be able to compile the AA source to get a regular release before you should think about applying the patch.

If your server is Linux/Unix, read this:
http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php/ ... _source.3F
If your server is Windows, this:
http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php/ ... ent_System

- then you need to apply the patch and compile again.

Edit: Pig's patch is here:
http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopic.php?t=9441

And no, we don't have ready to use binaries available for any of that.

A zombie zone appears when a player is killed by another.
To my knowledge, without modifying the source, this is the only way to make them appear.

I don't know. The zombies as I know them only get created when cycles get killed, they don't spawn on their own. If you get them to spawn, then yes, that would be possible, the zombie speed should be a configuration variable.

Darn, am I this slow to post?

arf

when i did set 'still in pre-alpha' i mean that config is far from being finished(you saw it) and that i'm missing some maps (actually 3 normal and 3 shot-maps, 4 maps still lack...) edit: not that i used an unstable v. of arma

now i understand what you did mean by that :)

also i did applied to 0.2.8. .... ehm 0.2.8.2.1 ^^:

- the pigsty patch (a mix of ctf, styball and shooting; i'm actually not planning to use ctf or styball, but time can give me another answer)

also to switch maps i used CT's script which doesn't really look anymore like the original one... :P

If you want my cfg files ask me

Wait for scripting and it'll be a breeze.

Note: The new “this will solve all of the world's problems” thing is scripting; XMMP is yesterday's snow ;)

You can make a feature request to Pig. It shouldn't be that hard to to even now, an new DTD, some lines in the map parser, making sure the zombies don't need to have a player.

If the race map is comepletely straight (for some weird reason) how about an expanding deathzone...maybe you could experiment with deathzones at the turns. They get bigger, so you need to get to the turn sooner so it will be easier to make it.
