I see a lot of people turning tighter than that, and drawing supercomplicated mazes at lightspeed, but I kind of assumed that such player were using macros. Now I think it's just because of my keyboard - this keyboard is old and kind of clunky, and doesn't seem able to send fast keystrokes. Thanks f...

I would suggest something in the range of 20ms. Thanks. Now all I have to do it figure out how :). I'm a scripting newbie, too. Umm, do you have any screenshots illustrating this 'super fast turning'? Hang on, I'll take some. Edit: Here's a shot from Tigers Network Classic Play: http://www3.telus.n...

Using the control pad, I can seemingly pull off faster turns than I can with the keyboard. I'm using a script to bind the control pad buttons to various joystck buttons - for the most part, just z and x on a number of the control pad buttons, but also for looking 9via the analog stick). Either becau...

scripts and cycle_delay

Since I'm not much of a keyboard user, I created a script to bind my controls to a playstation-style control pad. What I've noticed is that, on servers with very low cycle_delay settings, the control pad seems to give me an unfair advantage over kb users. On such servers, I wind up using the keyboar...

I want to find the "perfect" low rubber setup, which the default settings aren't quite. I've already figured out that you need to drop the cycle_delay - at default, it's slower than most people can execute a single-bind maneuver, especially with s-turns. Cycle_rubber at 2, and cycle_ping_r...

I'm in Alberta, so my ping to New York should be fairly good. You'd think I'd ping better to US west from here, but I seem to ping best to the northeastern US for some reason. Is there any way to get a readout of the server settings? I'm a bit curious as to what makes a rubber of, say, 4 playable on...

All of this makes some sense. I guess you're right, in that 4 or 5 may not be too much depending on <A> my ping, and <B> other rubber settings as well as cycle_delay when it comes to making an s-turn onto a wall. I have found a few servers now where 4 feels quite good, and others where it feels like...

I'll bet there are a lot of players that are new that find rubber like this, they're just hidden. Think of nitus as the tip of the iceberg This is probably true. Most new players are going to play local games first, and when they get online and discover that collisions don't kill people, there's bo...

I've played on a number of of ad-hoc servers where it was set to 1, and nobody was having a problem grinding or making tight corners once they got used to the server. It is possible to get bumped and retroactively terminated in some situations, but even with higher rubber that's going to happen. I d...

Newbie question

Hi. I've been playing AA in local mode since downloading it, and have gotten quite good at playing with low rubber. My question is, why doesn't anyone play on servers that have low rubber? A rubber setting of 2 is enough to allow grinds, without making it possible to slam into walls with no conseque...

You communicated with him several times after his lease had expired, yet you never informed him that he was past due? It looks as though you deliberately chose not to inform him or to warn him, and instead put out "feeler" notices, in the hope that he would continue to use the server and r...
