Hosting a server on a laptop with a wireless card

Post by Lucifer »

I'd like to set my computer up in such a way that I can host a server with my wireless card that other people can connect to with their wireless cards, and without having a wireless router nearby. Anybody know how I can do that? Is it even possible?

One person could connect in an ad-hoc network but no more, unless one could manage to time slice connections which i'm afraid would be stupid even if could be done for playing arma!

Yes, this can be done. System Preferences -> Sharing -> Internet, and share using your wireless card.

Oh, in Linux -- no idea.
