I just read what I said, and I agree with both of you.

That being said, I think what I was trying to get at is tron really has no need for authentication. There is not really any useful way someone posing as you can hurt you, and trusting random admins with passwords on such an ephemeral game as this seems sketchy.

I won't name them all but one that really sticks out that wouldn't work without authentication: Happy Fun Time.

Another good reason for Authentication, and one of the original ones, to keep your score your's. Before authentication it was very easy for someone to come into a server and ruin you stats deliberately, and it did happen. Now, you score is tied to your auth.

the only thing it slaps in the face is your continued existence, letting someong pretend to be you doesnt hurt you at all.

That and the fact that the server I mentioned is a Tron RPG, and you can level up.
Someone can steal your level simply by having your name, and you cannot use your account if someone is in with that name.

You come in to play "GSV Meatf**ker2" entered the game
You are now level one, with a new account.
If you had an authenticated account, that couldn't happen.

That doesn't exactly hurt you, but it's like someone deleting your game, which is always a frustration. (I have a little sister who used to always delete my Mario 64 save, used to make me nuts)
It does hurt if you've spent a lot of time getting your level or score.
In all honesty, I have anger issues, and that sort of thing would make my head hurt with frustration.
This coming from a guy that get's headaches from people just laughing at things that aren't funny in the slightest.
