My ~*SpeedeR*~ Server is not on the master list for some people for some reason.

Here is the story:
AntiX built a Clan War mode for the server so that we could have our server in private. Basically you stopped the server then restarted it into this mode. What it does is change the IP and turns TALK_TO_MASTER off (0) before starting it. I had it this way all last weekend for the SpeedeRs match play. Monday morning I put it back into normal mode so it would show up on the master server list. It does, but only for those who didn't play on the server before I put it into Clan War (Private) mode (for the most part, but AntiX can see it). For me the server IP (64.34.162.82 - going to change soon) doesn't even show up in the unavailable list. I need this fixed if anyone can. Please and Thank You.

actualy no code mods, the clanwar mode just tells the server to read from a different directory for configuration. 8)

Sorry, I could not check this earlier... Is everything back to normal now? For me, the server appears to be visible and active. Unfortunately, last week's logs have gotten deleted because of a server starter script error, so I can't look up what went wrong.

hmm, I'm just doing web server maintence right now, but I will check on it, also the beta2 seems to lag more, the white triangle around the opponents fills the screen.

Is it just the larger triangles or is there feelably more lag? The triangle size is now determined by other data sources (more direct and, I hope, closer to the truth; it was moderately well known that the triangles were too small). If it's something else, I'd like to ask for a recording.

ok I don't have a recorder for it, but check out

64.34.162.82

AntiX server, beta2, although on fedora core 3 it seems fine, but on cent os 3 it doesn't(cent os 3 is basicly a free version of Red Hat enterprise 3)

also, on beta 1 I noticed if I run the server with a different ip then the default server ip, it won't show up in the master list.

I will pm you the ssh password for this test server. (it will only be up for a couple more days, because the main server on that ip is being shut down, by my request, but it will do for testing)

Thanks, but what exactly am I supposed to do there? :? There are three things talked about in this thread:
- the main thing: loss of master server list place. Shall I put the server in clan war mode, wait a while, turn it back, and see what the master says? I think I'll try that when nobody is online.
- the extra, new lag in 0.2.8: I do have my own server available for that, and I would not know where to look. I definitely need a recording here.
- the nondefault IP problem: what is it about? You can't bind to a nondefault IP in the first place, only those IPs your machine actually has... Of course, this would still wrong error handling. :) So what exactly are the relevant settings and what does the server say when it starts?

Ok, I tried the restart process. How does it work exactly? Because the server console says afterwards

which shows no sign of talking to the master server at all; after a longer period in clanwar mode (depending on the master's mood, a day do a week), it will have given up pinging the server.
Side note: you probably should set MAP_FILE to the default value of 0.2.8_beta2; then the server will let older clients in as well. Right now, it's blocking 0.2.7.1 and earlier.

Yeah i noticed. It seemed to do that on my server too. And i'm only running beta1. ~*SpeedeR*~ Server is mine obviously.

oh yeah, the server restart process, just kills the screen session.
