Tron Client

After many, many data transferred due to crashes, new computers/laptops, etc. I have lost my favorite Tron client. I was wondering if anyone has it and can send it to me somehow. Dropbox, mediafire, things like that would work.

It was the client that was available for a VERY short period of time on April 1st one year. It was called Armagetron Cubed (0.3.0). It had a minimap in the bottom corner, and a more graphical interface (with color changing meters instead of little lines for rubber, brake, and speed). If someone can find a way to get a copy in my hands, they will be loved forever.

Mind you, it is very hard to find. Good luck.

Why not get 0.4? It has all the features you are looking for.

When I press download on the .3 exe file, it says that I do not have permission to access it. Any tips?

Ummm...... Why on earth, with all the broken functionality and bugs would you want a .3 client instead of the current .4?

Z-Man refers to http://sourceforge.net/projects/armaget ... ots/trunk/ where all the trunk (0.3, 0.4) versions are.
The newest versions (all of them have the minimap and new rubber bars by default) are in the 2012 folder, newest first. Even for different operating systems.*
If you really insist on wanting the exact same version you had though, search in the 2009 and 2006 folders; it will be one of them. But the newer ones have a lot of new and fixed stuff and look just the same anyway

*note: if you can't find a mac build; they aren't done very often. At the time of writing, the 2012/z1965 one is the latest mac build on that site.

Because 0.4 wasnt released yet. Even though 0.4 is pretty stable, it wasnt declared official release just yet, its just development version. There are, though, a few snapshots you can get, if you know how to find them.

I'm not sure why, comp, but for some odd reason .3 just runs more smoothly on my computer. I've tried tampering with the .4 settings to achieve the same results, but it still doesn't get the job done for me. I'll be keeping .4 for pickups, obviously, but I'd like to have access to both

. Still, why is it restricted to download for me?

Because 0.3 is old. There are so many problems with that client, it isnt even worth keep developing it. Even 0.2.8 is newer than 0.3.

Because 0.3 is old. There are so many problems with that client, it isnt even worth keep developing it. Even 0.2.8 is newer than 0.3.

Some people have used 0.3 for a very long time, without issues.

Ugh, it's not. The code that's 0.4 was once 0.3, and 0.3 was once 0.2.8. The only exception are the security patches, tiny new features, and bug patches that have been applied - hence 0.2.8.3.

In general, 0.even.X numbers are full stable releases, 0.odd.X numbers are development releases. What we have right now are 0.4 development releases, leading up to the proper release of 0.4. At this point 0.4 isn't getting any major new features, just patching up the last of the bugs, etc. Any big new features will be seen (eventually) in 0.5 to be worked on for their proper release in 0.6. (Or 1.0 if we ever get there.)
