Post by NIVEK »

no i dont have one, but i thought it would be pretty cool to have a screen saver with lightcycles running around the screen. if anyone reading this would like to creat a screen saver of this, or if you already know of a screen saver like this plz let me know.

you can use the unity engine for that

One thing you might try: exe2scr which you find on this site. Some people claim that you could simply create a screensaver by changing the extension from .exe to .scr; so that would be the first thing I'd try.

There has been a free GLtron screensaver available for years. It's pretty good. Some configuration in the preference panel, a lot more in the included text config. Only available for Mac, however.

Mac Update page, which links to the Developer's site.

Well, GLtron is open source, and the developer of the screensaver includes its source on his page. I have zero idear what goes into programming, but wondering aloud to anyone reading this, with the source at hand, would this be something that could be translated over to Linux and/or Windows with relative ease?
