CT USA
I have experienced horrid slides and such on this server, during ladles, a tst, the wst warmup tournament and the fort cafe tournament.
Is it just me or are more player facing ping issues on this server?
I don't usually complain, but from my experience, it's the only server i really can't play on, as my ping keeps jumping. Usually, US servers are fine. This however, is an exception.

Me.
It's the only USA server I actually lag/slide on, I think it doesn't like Dutch people.

Re: CT USA
I had very bad lag on CT USA during Ladle 44—it was unplayable for me. My connection isn't great, but I played in two more tournament rounds after that and didn't experience similar lag.
Re: CT USA
I guess it's just random for some people, and structural for others.

Yea, when you are lagging all the time you learn how to handle lags in certain situations.Olive wrote:[...]and structural for others.

Re: CT USA
I did do some stuff after ladle 44 that i was hoping would help your lags dlh at the least.

Re: CT USA
You cant predict slides, or adjust your gameplay on them. Or I'll have to stay miles away from walls, if that's what you meantheroze wrote:Yea, when you are lagging all the time you learn how to handle lags in certain situations.Olive wrote:[...]and structural for others.

Re: CT USA
wrong, you can learn to predict slides or at least react as soon as you have one. Of course, sometimes it gets out of hand but most of the time there is some kind of pattern. When you have a bad connection all the time, you learn to play accordingly, and the risk you have to take in each situation. In usa servers the risk we can take is minimum, therefore it gets a bit boring.
You need lots of experience to manage lags efficiently though

Re: CT USA
In a euro server for me:
100% of the time, the lagometers are big and you can't get close to the defender or attacker in fort without dying.
--------------------------------------------------------
93.5% of the time, a slide will cause me to slam into a wall and instantly die.
3% of the time, lag will have me drive around like normal, then suddenly the game rewinds and I instantly die.
2% of the time, lag is actually predictable. I slide just slightly on every turn.
1% of the time, the game freezes, then resumes 2 seconds later with m dead.
.5% of the time, there is no lag.
You can't learn how to react to lag when it is random and instantly kills you (97.5% of the time).

Re: CT USA
you should play with a spanish connection spin...
Re: CT USA
in 90% you do can 'predict' the lag. In the other 10%, which are massive lag pauses, ultra slides etc. you indeed can't. But, the time passes and you know when you are going to lag and how hard.

I bet Roze knows so much about lag he could make a 2 hour documentary about it

Re: CT USA
best assumption to make here would be that nobody knows what anybody else's connection is like until they've played on it or seen recordings of it.
Zman's looks great though.

None of you have played EU servers from China.
