I have two exciting tidbits of news:
First, I have had the good fortune to run into two separate new players this week. The defining thing about these players is that they are good natured, mature, and intelligent. I got both of them to join me on voice chat; from there I proceeded to set them up with configurations and teach them the basics of Arma including fortress! These folks have shown a serious interest in the game in general, and it's these kinda kind of people that will help grow and expand our community. Please embrace new players and try to help them (I gave each of these players over two hours of my time). Something to look out for when gauging whether or not a new player is worth your time is if they immediately ask you a question on how to play. Another thing to understand is, if these new players are close to your age, then you are a good candidate to teach them.
Secondly, I have been wanting to create some modifications to my sumo server (Bellum sumo), and now I am well on my way. My server now as modified spawn locations that allow players to use a boost wall to reach the zone. I made this map for several reasons: It keeps afk players from entering the zone and causing trouble, it creates more diversity in the zone, thereby, creating a more enjoyable endgame, and it also creates an amazing tunneling environment provided there are eight to ten players. Please give the server a try, and let me know if you think of any changes you would recommend. Enjoy!
See you on the Grid!

Re: Helping new players and changes to my server
Awesome, Bellum Sumo ftw! The boost wall is reminiscent of TX Team Sumo or whatever it was that had the zones spread out, but had the walls between them. Sounds like an interesting change for jumbo sumo.
We'll have to start playing there more often in the evenings
