Crosseyed & Painless Tournament

Post by Word »

here's the wiki article, feel free to improve it.
Challenge Board

we will host 4 EU servers, we'll probably need more (and I know we can currently host up to 5)
From what we've seen so far teams of 3 should work best, 4 members per team makes it very hard to survive if your ping is bigger than 100.
Word wrote:LIMIT_SCORE is 50 and since there are always 4 teams the rounds should be over fast. There are always four teams, so in my opinion the best two teams after 5 matches qualify for the next round, but they won't play against each other again until the finals. Atm it's four players per team but that can be very laggy. Perhaps we'll change it to 3 players.

In the finals it's still best of 5 but there's only one winner in the end.

Thoughts?

Good initiative and I will support it as I best can - either by helping administrating or by playing. Whatever is most needed.

How will you deal with the brackets? A detailed description would be nice.
The wiki page seems to be the same as ladle's description so far:
Wiki page wrote:Brackets

* All games are best of 3 matches (the first team to win 2 matches advances to the next round).
* If there are 2 servers listed for a specific game, the game will be played in each team's home server (European or American) if both teams are European or both are American. If there is a mixture, the game will be played in the server that is in bold.
If you haven't worked on it yet, I wouldn't mind making a bracket system for you to work with/improve.

Why would you help by playing? Play because you would want to because it's a good tourney

Played the serv today, recon is has the depth to be used for a teamed tourney

one more is on the way, hosted in france. I am going to update the server binary to .2.8.3.1 first. Then I will list them all on the wiki.

*bump*

Perhaps I announced it a bit too early...

So far only 4 teams signed up, but we have enough servers for 36 (!) teams.
I'd be glad if some more take part so we have at least 18 teams (3 players per team).

I'm still a little confused about the rules. So is it basically 4-team-fort games with 3 players a team to 50?

there aren't any zones, but the rest is correct except that the servers have a different map (check it out)

The tourney is tomorrow, if you are going to sign up please do it now so i can start the brackets :)

we have already 12 teams, 4 more teams (i thought of plus, ID, tx, KoD, pnd or unk) and the whole thing runs smoother :P

Important: I corrected the round times for the PDT, EDT, and CEST timezones. The table had times listed using the PST, EST, and CET timezones. Note that British Summer Time is also in effect (and not listed on the table)—it is GMT+1.
