Notorious Emoticons Ladle Practice servers

Post by compguygene »

I have just finished setting up 2 Notorious Emoticons Ladle practice servers. Anybody can feel free to setup matches or practices there. I have set ACCESS_LEVEL_TEAM 20 which allows anybody who is authenticated to have team leader. So, any authenticated user can /lock teams, etc. There is one that is hosted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. and one that is hosted in France.

The new DNS for the Notorious Emoticons needs another 24 hours from the time of this post to propagate. After that time, you will be able to go to the forums via http://www.NotoriousEmoticons.net at this time you still need to use http://notoriousemoticons.friendhood.net/index.htm. Once the DNS has fully propagated, about 24 hours from the time of this post, you can custom connect to these 2 servers via the following: For the US server use us.notoriousemoticons.info port 4534. For the EU server use fr.notoriousemoticons.info port 4537.

Perhaps those of you that would setup your own fortress server just for practices, can use these servers instead.

As a derivative of The Server Pharm, shouldn't this be in that thread?

um, k thx? I don't see why you need to make a topic for every single server you set up, pretty sure there are 10 more ladle servers people can practice in, and its not like you ever get the user levels right. -_-

(totally unrelated, but if WST 2 is still happening then please this time make it so the team leaders have powers.)

That is completely untrue as to USER_LEVEL! In my Ladle servers, just like most, I just RINCLUDE the current authorities. Also, this is unique, in that ANYBODY has team leader, not just the team leaders from the last Ladle. Also, I do NOT make topics for every server I setup. I know you pretty much hate me vogue/liz/compgaygene, but I find your criticism here to be rather unwarranted.

Once again, I merely did and RINCLUDE of the relevant authority file. It is not my fault if that was not setup properly. The day that the tournament took place, I was spending time with my family, and I didn't see the topics posted on the forum until after the tourney was over. It's rather unfair to blame me for something that was a mistake that somebody made with the authority file.
I am glad that you raised these questions, as I am certain that others have as well. By the way, if you find it so offensive that I post about a server, just mark the topic as having been read and ignore it. As annoying as you seem to find me, I also find your baseless attacks.

Unwarranted? If my "accusations" are false then feel free to correct me, but the other WST servers had the authority included, but we couldn't do anything on your servers. 9 out 10 times thats the case...

But I must be wrong, good luck. ;)

If you hate my servers so much, don't play in them, or tournaments that I provide them for.
Tell me what was wrong in the last few ladles with my servers? Any lag, etc. is the fault of my provider, and that is why I have switched. Hope you are getting laughs here. You love to bait me, troll me, etc. I guess you just love to show your true colors! You choose people as your enemy and relentlessly hunt them down! It is because of people like you that I really don't find Armagetron very fun at times. I am not the only one. It is people like you that are having a very negative effect on the community. In the last few weeks, I have heard this from 11 different players that do not play Armagetron at this time. I suppose that you feel that you have the right to say anything, hurt anyone's feeling, and do anything, and have no consequences for your actions.
Other people have shown appreciation for what I do for this game, even though you seem to think I do a crappy job. I know you feel that the hatred you have for me is entirely justified.
Its kind of funny. Last night, I was in a DBD server (that I host by the way) merely testing the functionality of the server versus the script. I was invited to play in the Twixted Xats Team Sumo Server [US], which I also host, and have Owner level rights in. I mentioned the TST which is going to be held in TR2NOrigns. You proceeded to accuse me of being there only to advertise the tourney. You also made sure to change your nick to compgaygene. If I wanted to, I could have just forced you to play as Lizmatic, and then kicked you. I didn't, merely because I don't do that. After your insults became increasingly personal, I spectated and suspended you. I tried to reason with you, and you challenged me to kick you. I didn't. You finally left of your own accord! Finally, I was able to enjoy myself! Unfortunately, because I am doing many other things than just playing, I only had a short time that I could devote to just enjoying a good TeamSumo game.
The only reason I am bothering to write all this is simple. I would just like to show an example of your hatred and increasingly hostile behavior toward me. I am truly sick of it! I know that many people here seem to happily tolerate your behavior, and not care who you hurt. I really thought that Armagetron was a videogame, and supposed to be fun! Read my signature! Its is truly sad that people like you have to put so much energy into ruining the game for anybody that you don't like.
People wonder why I am so focused on TR2NOrigins and not really playing Armagetron. Perhaps you all can now understand why. When I play, I just want to be able to have fun! However, I don't feel that I should have to play under a different nickname, or use proxies to hide my IP address, which by the way are things that you do all the time, Lizmatic. Perhaps you do this because you do have much to hide! I don't.

I've enjoyed all the servers you provide and appreciate the extreme generosity. Thanks Comp!

Thanks for the compliment, Ari. Many people often express the same sentiment. Quite frankly, its one of the things that makes it fun! For me, the real fun with the servers is constantly learning new things, and now that I am starting to play with Parser Scripts, programming.

I greatly appreciate your contribution to the Tron community. However, I agree with Liz because I myself have experienced at least two tournament complications because of authentication errors from Tx servers. (I was told you own them, if this is false than I apologize)

I am in the process of moving all of the servers that I host to a new dedicated server. Any bad authentication problems will go away. Also, although i do host the TX servers, in the sense that I pay for the server they are hosted on, Durka does all the actual work of hosting them. This upcoming Ladle, the 2 servers that are listed as TheServerPharmPA1 and TheServerPharmPA2 are in this superior hosting situation. That is why they both have 60 slots to allow more spectators. Unfortunately, Durka and I were not able to coordinate the move of the TX servers before this upcoming Ladle. But, they are the next priority in the ongoing transition.

Just as a precaution if you aren't going to be around during the Ladle: ensure that someone has a high enough access level to change MAX_CLIENTS. I don't know if your servers have really been tested with 60 clients, and many people will want to watch the semi-finals and finals.

My thoughts exactly. Although I will likely be around. I am starting a topic to recruit a few admins for my Ladle servers.
