Different types of games?

Post by Stinger »

I was hoping for a little bit of clarification on some of the types of Arma games out there as I have really only played your bog standard last man standing, CTF but that is about it (please dont laugh at my Noobishness).

Anyone fancy 'clue-ing' me up?

Fortress: Two zones, and two teams. The gold team tries to block the blue team from entering their base while simultaneously trying to break into blue's base. Blue tries to do the same thing. The round ends when either a base is captured or all the players on a team dies. (The teams aren't always gold and blue but that's how it usually is.)
Sumo: One zone with 4 players in it. The goal is to push your opponents out of the zone without going out of it yourself because if you stay out of it for too long you die. You can also win by simply killing your enemies. When more players enter the server, more zones pop up. If you "win" your zone, it will dissipate and then you can attack the other zones.
Team Sumo: The same thing as sumo except with teams.
DF: The most mocked game type. Never play it because it's a joke.
Race to Win: Race your opponents past death zones and other traps to the winzone. The first person to the winzone wins.
There are probably more, but I can't think of them right now.

Nothing "noobish" about that. Last man (or team) standing is the only good "game mode," anyway. :stubble:
