Death of DD...again...

Ok, so I am playing DD Racing II and it has a message that all DD servers will shut down on April 30... That was on April Fool's Day and I took it as a joke. But it has stayed up. The death of DD is sad for me; I started my racing carreer on Armagetron at DD II. But, servers cant go on forever as players, especially in racing, change out for new ones quickly. But, when your favorite server of all time goes under, it is still sad. Know what I mean.

The only reason it's going under is that the admins don't really care about it anymore. They've let it become rampant with glitches and don't care to take the time to erase glitches. I happily played it before and made it to the top, but with all these extra glitches: records are pointless and people can get scores half the time as the original.

PinkTomato isn't going to renew his VPS server...that's the real reason why the servers are going down.

Yes. This is why one of the servers owned by Pink Tomatoes (Pink Tomatoes Fortress I believe) is going down too.

I offered to pinktomato to host the ddracing server, since it is so popular, but there is more to the story. There are some things that Pink wants to fix with the server, but the code to make the server is rather convoluted. Pink wants to do a full "code cleanup" before moving forward with the server. He has plans to do so, but he is working on other projects at the moment. Have patience. As his coding skillz increase, he will come back to the racing server and make it way kewler than ever before! And, racing is set to explode as a game mode this summer! Several of my server admin buddies are working on racing servers, its all the rage right now!

That is all really cool. I played DD II several times, but havent had a chance to get back to forums. I feel really weird now...I a noob, only played a year, yet I was ahead of my time by getting into racing?!?! I still cant even pay normal
