Can't hear sounds

I am using a mac, and for some reason, when ever I start a game I can not hear the sounds. What's worst is the fact that I can't even access the Sound Settings. Why? Because Everytime I hit enter nothing happens.

Sound was disabled on the Mac in 0.3.0 (a development snapshot, not a regular release) due to SDL_mixer problems.

Well, I have vista. I cant hear the music, so i took z-mans advice to press play + previous track. But whenever I press play + previous track, my game quits...
Am I supposed to enter a track name into cutom playlist?

If you've selected custom playlist, you also have to provide the complete path to the playlist, and the playlist must be .m3u formatted. Finally, you have to restart the game for the new setting to take effect (it doesn't load the playlist, but will try to behave like it has one, and probably crashes).

If you don't restart the game and the game crashes instead, your setting won't be saved. So make the setting, then restart the game, then do what z-man said, and it should work.
