Maybe a new game mode

Maybe a new game mode

I thought about a new game mode or map. But I don’t know if it’s possible to implement. In the case of it’s possible and it’s of interest, we need a server and someone who can create it.

So the idea is to include weapons in any kind of fortress. Most of you probably know it from Mariocart. But it won’t work the same way.

To make an example of my image, I try it with normal fort like café.
The main idea is, that over the field are little circles in different colours. Each colour stands for another type of weapon. The key to activate the weapon probably should be brake.
If you collect one you are free to activate it, and when you want it. You can only carry one weapon at the same time. Maybe if the weapon was used it appears again on a different place.
Here’s a little list of the weapons I thought of:

1. The normal brake
2. Turboboost
3. To place a death zone
4. A normal shot
5. A zombie shot
6. An invisible wall (for like 8 sec)
8. More rubber (for like 8 sec)

So these are only examples and maybe you have new ideas to add.
I think it could be really fun to have such a map or server.

It is possible to have a special zone that when entered all the cycles turn into kangaroos, jump over the arena wall and start playing team tetris on their virtual gameboys. But it does require someone to code it.

Unfortunately there doesn't exist a version of arma that is near being capable of performing the required tasks.

You'll be able to do some of the things via a script using 0.2.8-sty+ct.
The trunk using zones v2 maybe be capable of some of the others (not sure of the state of things there atm). But without some scripting support I can't see this will be able to do what you ask.

You're gonna have to do some serious hacking.

nope, you can't make a player shot when he presses brake with zonesV2 as it is currently
(and this is the same with zonesV1)

with the sty patch
the zone v2 attribute
would be the setting affecting
the shot
technically you'd always have the shot
but it'd only shoot a projectile with a radius
when the setting was activated?

The sty patch is incompatible with zones v2, as far as I know.

It shouldn't be too hard to merge zonesv2 and the sty patch now that the trunk has complete support for v1 zones again

That sounds better, than I thought. Some things should be possible. So, if someone wants to work on it, tell me please.

With zombie shot I meant something like a little shot, which follows the next enemy. And another idea to add here could be, if you carry a normal shot you would be able to annihilate the zombie, that follows you.

this is a little old, but i like it and kinda want to work on it.
the being able to launch a zombie sounds very easy to do with sty source, but you would have to add a bunch of ownership stuff so that it wouldnt chase the person who launched it :ghost: :sdot: :pacman: :bdot: :ghost:
and a zone that goes around your cycle and kills anyone who touches it would be not to hard too.
a placable death zone sounds really easy: a red shot that doesnt move
i should start on this, that would be cool.
