It's because you're not properly crashing into my wall.

That's not contstructive Lucifer. Are you playing in single player or multiplayer mode? It could be that one of the Performance Tweaks is messing things up, I know that having one of them makes walls disapear on my system, which means you can't see what you hit that makes you blow up...

Seriously, I"ve noticed when it happens, it just happens once for everybody, then goes back to normal. And it happens to everybody, I mean. Possible causes:

1. Extreme packet loss. Packet loss is characterized by frequent, almost cyclical, updates where suddenly everything changes on the map. We're used to seeing this on some servers, like ish. Extreme packet loss creates a situation where the grid doesn't get updated from the server in a loooooong time, resulting in what appears a random crash, hitting nothing. This is what usually happens to everybody.

2. I think there's a bug in there somewhere also, and it's probably in the dedicated server. I've seen it happen numerous times where it wasn't extreme packet loss, it was just a serious disagreement between the server and every connected client on what the grid looked like. Gets worse the longer the server runs without being restarted, seems to get worse also if the server runs continuously, ie doesn't sleep because no players are connected. The partial solution is for the server administrator to just restart the server periodically. (Swampland, Breakfast(s) in Hell and Breakfast of Mass Destruction all have a cronjob that restarts them. Not sure about Champions, but it's hardly ever running these days anyway)

3. There is no #3.

I was serious, in any type of game play, one of the performance Tweaks will make walls not be displayed. Turning them all off fixes this.
