tourney with prize money
Some people were talking today in ish about having a tournament for bux. They were suggesting a 5 dollar entry fee. Payment through paypal. Winner takes all minus the paypal cut.
I would recommend a series of 5 point matches. Lowest score at the end of the match is eliminated. Continue until one player is left. No teams. If more than 8 players, matches would be busted into divisions, A, B, C etc. as necessary. The winners of each division would meet for a final 20 point match. First one to 20 takes all the prize money.
I would set the rules to be points for kills only with no penalty for suicide. I would also give the game the highest priority during the tournament, and I might even turn off the email scanning for the duration. Even with this, outside forces can contribute to lag. No one can cry foul if they get lag killed. That's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
If I host the game, I would take the entrance fees through paypal, and will aware the prize to the winner.
Now how about some discussion. Are others interested in this? What is your take on how the rules should work etc. Should we pursue it?

ping is the name of an applications used to send ICMP echo messages that are returned by the destination host. The total travel and processing time of the ICMP echo message provide a general indication of the rtt (Round Time Trip), the time required for a message to go from the source host to the destination host and back.

Heh, no wonder I always get a killer ping on your server.ishAdmin wrote:Um, yeah, good point for those who are not near the server.
The server is located in Texas, USA.
Nota for Philippe: The game calls it ping, and ping is accepted as standard usage, so if you don't call it ping, nobody knows what the **** you're talking about.
