Its probably your dailup connection that cnat load the page properly. I tryed to load the page over and over agian to see if i could get the message but it loads too quickly to notice.
If you look through the source this must be the line that you are having trouble loading:
Code: Select all
<a href="http://gunbound.net/" target="_blank" class="postlink"><img src="http://210.19.249.243/gbstat/ProfessorPap.png" border="0" /></a>

This was just a repeat of the previous message. I wanted to edit the message and it ended up submitting the message twice. Strange its never done that before. Is there a reason why you cant delete your OWN posts.

Actually there are good reasons for it. If you could delete your own posts, then it becomes possible to post some sort of troll/flamebait, attract the flames you wanted, then delete your post. Wham, now you've been flamed for no reason, and anybody (besides the original set of readers) will let you be the martyr you're trying to be.Zapple wrote:Because if someone says something stupid, we all/they want to laugh at them/meMatrox wrote:This was just a repeat of the previous message. Similar exploit with editing, which is why I prefer posts to show they've been edited so you know there is possibly discontinuity between posts. I'd also prefer posts to show their edit history if desired, so the reader can resolve the discontinuity if they'd like. It doesn't appear on the surface that these forums are configured that way, but I don't really know.

If you notice around this forum some posts have a "Edited by.." message at the bottom the post while others dont.Lucifer wrote:Similar exploit with editing, which is why I prefer posts to show they've been edited so you know there is possibly discontinuity between posts. From having a look at phpbbhacks they say that the "Edited by.."message will only dispalyed by default if the post has been altered after someone has posted after your messsage. Therefore if you write your post then dont like it you can change it without the "Edited by" msg. But if you change it after someone has posted after you then you SHOULD get the "edited by" msg.
This helps in away to combat the porblems you say but i think that this has to be configured in the admin panel. It can be turned on for all situations via a hack i think. This results in "edited by" when ever a msg is changed.
