Sure. First thing you need is a computer in Australia capable of running a server, and we can't help you with that :) A Unix machine would be preferable, because we're more experienced with that, so we can offer better help. Then, well, read the docs on installing a server and do it :) Or give one of us the login of the user that is supposed to run the server process and we'll do the rest.

You won't be able to reply to this post. :)

Um, you'll need to find someone in Australia willing to host the server. I'm sure you could pay someone for the hosting, but iirc there aren't enough Australian players to help you there, so you'd have to front it yourself. There have been some kangaroo-lovers from time to time that have hosted servers. The problem they've run into has always been that people generally don't play on them because, well, if you get 250-500 pings on other servers, those of us on those continents will get 250-500 pings on your server. So you'll probably also want some sort of active recruitment going on. :)

I know, it's a chicken and egg problem. We don't retain Aussie players as well as we do other continents because of the ping thing, but the ping thing hasn't been addressed for Aussie players because there aren't that many of them. Australia's kind of a special case.

You could
- find a friend that has a computer he keeps on 24/7 and that is on the internet all the time with a reasonable connection (ADSL/Cable, NOT a satellite link) and ask him to let you run a server there
- rent a server at a hosting company. In may cases "virtual servers" or "shared servers" are enough. All you need is the cheapest possible way to run self-installed programs (C++ programs, not PHP/perl).

Probably not. They're running the servers on the machines they have available, they can't just get them further south.
