Sure, post some screenshots. Also, if you could download rc2 version, I'm sure someone around here can help talk you through getting a recording out of it. BUt post the screenshots in the meantime.

Take any of the two I guess, not sure if there is any practical difference. OSS rocks, so take the GCC version
Screenshots... They get saved into some directory. Unter Linux it is ~/.armagetronad/screenshot/.
Not sure but try searching your "My Documents" or installation directory.

Err, you install it and run it? It's an executalbe you downloaded, I assume, something with .win in its name.SkullFlame69@diablo2 wrote:ok i have it downloaded now what do i do?
Maybe you have your screenshot key bound to a key that is otherwise used in the server browser. You can change the key in "System Settings/Misc Stuff/Global Keyboard Configuration".SkullFlame69@diablo2 wrote:Also i went into the screen-shots and all i found were ones i took during a game not when i had it in the sign-in menu.
Anyway, a recording is MUCH more useful than a screenshot. There is a nice start menu entry installed for it, just start the game over that, do what you want to demonstrate, exit, and send us the new file on your desktop.

Never mind the delay, it's you who wants something done
You can't change the screenshots folder, it's always <My Pictures>/Armagetron.
To do a recording, open up our start menu, click on "Armagetron Advanced", then "Armagetron Advanced Recording". The entries may be hidden from not being used, you know how to unhide those, I bet. This starts the as usual, but with recording enabled. Try to connect to an internet game and see it fail. Quit the game. Don't do anything fancy like starting a local game and playing for an hour, this makes the recording too big. On your desktop, you'll notice a new file named ArmagetronAdvancedDebugRecording.aarec, compress it with some zip program and post it here in an attachment. If you don't have a zip program, rename the file to something ending in .zip.

You did it right. I was able to play it back.
z-man's at a seminar right now, and afaik, he's the only person around here who can decipher the recordings.
I gave it a look, but without poking into the code, I don't know what the error messages mean. It appears to me that you've got a block in place somewhere, either your firewall, router, or ISP.

I hope you don't get mad, but I just went ahead and emailed your ISP with the question. It would be really helpful if we knew of other alltel customers that could tell us if they were having problems or not, and if so, how they fixed it.
I didn't link this thread. Do you have any objections to me directing them to this thread, should they bother to respond?
