Probably. I think I can recall Poke' Master having a similar problem. Same thing with the PRU server (Also in Germany iirc)
If both durka and poke' have the same issue, while other americans and europeans don't, I guess you guys could move to the east coast or something.
If only there were some standard for Ladle servers we could say "this one is appropriate" and "this one shouldn't be used ever." But since we rely on server donations, so we have to take what we get. I do agree TSP servers are always shaky.
I think that's no reason for stopping to use TSP Servers. Even if those servers really are shaky, every player playing in that server has the problem so noone could complain about it as it's sure that they all have the same conditions.

and by the way, 5 of the 11 ladle servers are hosted by compguy, so how do you want to hold up ladles without his servers?

But in Ladles, we always want the best server conditions. While it would be "fair" if we played in a server where everyone had 3 FPS and 400 ping, I don't think anyone would advocate playing in a server like that.

TSP servers have been good for me, to what I can remember, but I haven't played in them much. G5's megafort pro has always been great (haven't tried his ladle server much, but I assume it's the same). pRu ladle is probably the worst server I've played; I always slide in there.

Yes but I'd rather determine the ladle winner by the team that is most skillful, instead of the team that is luckiest in laggy unplayable conditions.

I live in Los Angeles.
100% the same for me...Poke gtfo outta my basement!
Well if he provides the most servers for ladle, all chances are that the faulty server will be one of his, especially considering the setup of all of them is up to one man. How about getting constructive and lending a hand instead of being destructive and removing them all?
This gives me a thought that I have been having for a while now about ladle and other tournament servers. I agree that the management of TSP servers has not been the best. Also, I would like to put a lot more focus on some ideas I have for scripted servers. So, I would like to propose an idea to all of you. What I really think would be the best for the community as a whole, would be for me to make a user account on each server that is dedicated to the community being able to put up servers for the Ladle, and other tournaments. All I would provide is a user account for individuals I trust to just take care of it, which would include the needed sudo access for the purpose of building server binaries.
So, here is what I am looking for, volunteers. Qualifications are simple.
People who have built server binaries and put up servers in the past.
People that I know and trust.
People that will take up, as a community, all the responsibilities in updating the servers, server binaries, and server starter scripts.
Ideally, at least 3 people, so there will always be somebody that can take care of the tournament stuff, so I don't have to do any thing with it.
Here is a short list of those I would feel most comfortable doing this with. If you don't see your name on this list, don't be afraid to ask! I am looking for TSP tourney servers to be a community thing, not a one man thing. That way, just like the ladle has had long term success, so with TSP.

Please respond in this thread, and lets get the ball rolling on this, so future Ladles and other tourneys can be run better with TSP servers.
