Wow, great color choice for a link. Reminds me of links to nonexistent pages on mediawiki/wikipedia…

  1. Why should I follow a link to a page that doesn't exist?
  2. I see that some things about the rules are still unsolved, for example what should be done if there's more players on one team than on the others.
  3. I don't like the idea of a referee whose decision is “final”—this is bound to be unfair
  4. Bad experience from the last ITW.
  5. The competition server seems to be down or not on my master, so I can't go in and check the settings.
  6. I don't like something something that tries to legally bond me to set rules for some damn online game (apart from the fact that this won't work anyways)

So if one team shows up with two players and the other one with eight (but ten signed up for both teams originally) it's two vs two and the other 6 people can watch?

What if 0 people of one team show up? Eill everyone of the other team just have to watch the “Waiting for real players…” center message until the end of time?

I have used a color font over that link, just give it a click and discover what a link does, btw the server is online, maybe its u that dont see it.

Now it's online, but my data tells me that it just went online (or got known to my master server) some 7 minutes ago.
Yeah, and I was able to deduce that you used a color tag, and was just wondering why.

  1. It does - just click it
  2. See rule 8
  3. Referees' decisions are final in most sports. The referee is meant to be unbiased. Admittedly, of course, this doesn't always happen (The Football World Cup being a good example).
  4. Hopefully the new rules will avoid the problems of the previous TWC.
  5. The server appears not to have registered with all the masters - this is something we're looking into now.
  6. There is nothing about you being legally bound by the rules. Simply that you agree to adhere to them when taking part in the tournament. It is normal that you are expected to follow the rules when participating in something

If no-one from one of the teams arrives within a reasonable amount of time, they default that match.

One point,
'substituitons' may get a little confusing. Really it shoud be as simple as one player entering spec mode as one joins the team.
However I can easily see a situation where eg. the timing is wrong as one person didn't go into spec mode in time, thus resulting in that team having an extra player for a round or so.
Sounds unimportant but what about when the other team loses that round,
'no fair they had extra player' etc. etc.

Also wrtl's point about referee's.

'This event is organised by the Lords of Destruction clan, who will choose the referee(s) for each match.'

How are they chosen, Is there some sort of course on refereeing arma?
Just take a lok at the posts on 'holing' to see that players have different views on gameplay and so how will decisions made by refs be consistent?

One more thing, who ran the last World Cup Tourney? Why is LoD dong it now? Why not just a Wiki sign up page?

(ok 3 more things )

Have you considered a minimum player deal, where you know you can play with some minimum number of players (provided they show up, of course). Say that number is 3, and you show up with 5. Your opponent shows up with 2. You reduce to 3 players.

I don't know, it's tricky to work out where everyone that signs up and shows up can play without having a team get slaughtered because half their team didn't show up for whatever reason.

Not that I care, no time for tournaments right now.
