Kings of the grid
Well someone came up with the idea after one of the ladles, and 2020 took up the idea and made it a bit more robust. But since 2020 seems to have had enough of organizing for a bit I thought what the heck and I'd give it a shot. Rigt now I'm most probably gonna do this, but i'd really like some feedback first.
What?
The idea is simple, you have one team that are the kings, other teams can challenge them. If they beat the kings the challengers themselves become the kings. The goal is to stay the kings for as long as possible (= challengers beaten).
When and where?
2020 suggested one night in a week where everyone could challenge the kings. I think asking to be stand by for like 2 or 3 hours wouldn't be asking too much of the kings, from 6 to 9 pm gmt or something. If there would be good communication between the kings and the challengers this could be changed to 'whenever on that day when it suits the best for both teams'. But I'd rather not count on the communication skills of two random teams of up to eight people. The kings should take on every challenge to a reasonable degree (like: no more than three challenges in one night for the same kings).
2020 also has hired a tronserver, which he is gonna use for other things too afaik, but he said he would keep it free for one day a week for this event. The reason we(I) would like this to happen on his server is because it is certain we can get the server logs to check if everything went the way people say they went. Also, in the future we might get some cool stats of the matches/teams/players that way (survival rate, kills per round, conquests per match etc) á la Sasha's excelsheet.
Who?
Well since there has been some talk about team balance issues every time the ladle shows up, instead of sleeping the last two hours of my good night rest, I came up with this great idea. (as far as great ideas come at 5 in the morning.)
Challengers can have as many teammembers as they wish, up to eight people. These people can be anyone except those who are already kings. The kings however get a certain line-up consisting of eight places, from where they can add people, but not extract them. So if lets say team A challenges with only six people and become the kings, they can add two more people to their line up. They don't have to though, if they want to be flexible untill a time comes when they face a really strong opponent, or when on one night two of their regular members don't show up.
This also gives the challengers something extra to consider. Because let's say you have formed a great team with eight players, but on the night of the challenge only six show up. Then you could chose to challenge anyway with only six or you could add two 'random' people who you will be stuck with for the rest of your possible carreer as kings.
Thats all i can really think of now. Comments and questions appreciated.

Fortress.
The games are as fast as a new challenger appears. (or 'slow' since getting a team ready seems like the biggest timefactor during alot of the organized matches i've been in)
Best of three.

Yes, i expect the kings to be either online or in direct contact with someone who is online. First challenger comes and gets his team together is the first challenger served.
Now that i think about it, it might be better if there would be ~three timeslots of an hour which people could reserve. That way everyone only needs to come online when they reallly have to play.

Considering that it's more likely that people form a team with people they like and enjoy playing with (like a clan-based team or a team like pronoobz), i think there would be alot of other teams imaginable who would at least have a chance to beat them. As I see it any active fortress player could be part of one of those teams.
This perception is based on previous ladle-experience, so it could be totally different in this case, but you can't really tell untill it has actually materialized.
