Sounds like an interesting idea.
Instead, though, could I get my depiction in the form of a wallpaper stain?

lol, glad you saw the site, maji. probably will go down in a day or two when the old DSL service is switched off. then i gots to find a new server home... thinking about adding a new section with writings and stuff like what i done been posting here sometimes.

marrow, i have fairly severe CFS and some kind of unknown syndrome that gives me trouble with my extremities. also clinical chronic and major depression when the mood meds aren't working, altho they've been working nicely for most of this year (and i'm grateful). amazingly i'm still able to play basketball and some tennis, altho i get exhausted quickly and have to take constant rests. that reminds me, i knew this guy who had very bad terminal cancer but was a lifelong table tennis player and loved it so much that he kept playing (and winning!) up until virtually his last days. when the point was over he would be slumped over the table, gasping and wheezing, but when the ball was in play he would turn into a tiger for the duration. kind of amazing how the body & mind work, eh?

anyway, seems a few of us here have some serious health problems... altho in roadkill's case it's simply a man-sized squirrel riding on his back. :(

I'm very sorry to read that. There are two types of people who use the Internet. Those that think the Internet is real life and those that don't. I believe the Internet is real life. The friendships I make on the Internet are just as valuable as those made away from the Internet - if not more valuable because I actually realize who the other person is from their words and not their appearances. That being said, I consider you a good friend and wish you the best and hope you don't leave the forum. Or, if you do leave the forum, let me know where you're going so that I can join the new forum you find.

that was really nice of you to say, marrow, and interesting, and i appreciate it very much. and my main problem here is:

1) i don't have too many places where i can really cut loose with more of my full silliness, but at the same time i think i maybe take up a lot of space and if i had less of a presence here it might possibly create room for others to post in a more straightforward way: less bizzare, more ordinary, but increased traffic.

2) there's a core group of people i really enjoy here, but it seems people are always dropping in-and-out with their presence, which can make for some very slow periods. if the # of us were doubled from roughly 6 to 12 this would not be a problem, i'm thinking...

3) for a long time now i've been on kind of a quest for the ideal forums that combined great humor, animal trivia and crazy links with a deal of intelligence and philosophy. this place goes an amazingly LONG way towards that, but is still mainly for arma. so maybe one day i'll find the mythical place, and you'll be invited, of course, altho by the same token if you know of such a place, please don't hold out on me!

nicolas.b, we certaintly don't mind you here, and your posts have led to a number of wonderful discussions, even though I am not yet the phylisophical type. (Except for my signature ;)). This place is not necessarily about Armagetron, it's also about community. "Armagetron Forums: Building Community Around Armagetron" It does not matter how many people we really have, or exactly what we're about. We have a lot of strong friendships here, and even though we may leave for a few weeks, we have always returned because we enjoy what goes on here. There are no issues of space or silliness- it's about having fun. Sure, a little bit of Armagetron is fun, but why do you suppose it is called "Really General: Anything about anything..."? When I wrote that, I had in mind that these forums would expand beyond Armagetron, and that we would enjoy talking with each other about other things as well. I have no problem with making Really General contain a subforum or two like "Animals & That Wacky Crap" or "Phyllosophy on the Internet Level". It just does not matter that we mainly post in Really General. The "Really General" sections of many forums I have been at have had practically no activity, everything there has been buisness, and they have not taken the time to look at each other as people, but they look at each other as resources or means of reaching their goals. We though, we have have created the most interesting forums that I have ever seen because we don't just stick to our given topic... And I think I'm starting to repeat myself so I'd better stop.

Sorry to hear that Nick. I kindda know what your going through, my wife has had CFS for quite a while. It's some what better now, than back when they had no clue what CFS is or was. She has been hunting for info on it for quite a while and seems to know a lot on the subject.
Still wondering about those painted rocks

More sillyness i say, Frizza and I love it. What ever you do, don't think you are taking up too much space. If it wasn't for you and some others I wouldn't check the forums every day and when I'm not too busy, to reply. (been real busy lately). Which ever forum you go to, let us know! You are a cool frood (HHGTTG) You are so hip you can't see over your bum.

Thats just nature ... chaos theory and entropy and all that. I've been real busy lately etc etc. (Not having a job, wanting to buy stuff etc. makes you, sort of, concentrate on other stuff a bit :)

I've never bothered with any forum before this one, great, intelligent, funny stuff. To repeat, its the people that make the forum not the forum that makes the people. This is good forum b/c of the people, and not because of armagetron. The game however seems to draw in a lot of very intelligent people. Nicolas, Node, Communist, Marrow, Maj, Tank and others( dont feel bad being left out I dont have time to list all of you!) are some of the most intelligent people i have ever met. There must be soemthing to it.

So what I'm trying to say is that, you not being here Nic (that goes for others too) would make this place a lot more borring.

Cheers

:o

wow... thank you guys for some REALLY kind words. if i had had more friends like you in RL when growing up it would have been great (let's put it that way). wow, i really am feeling a bit humbled over these nice responses.

ANYWAY-

this small forums was a VERY pleasant surprise for me to get involved in back in JAN-FEB. particularly since i've been involved in some other forums for a long time and the people there left me, let's say, unstimulated and restless, despite having a userbase in the 100's or even tens of thousands, depending on how you look at it.

so maybe what i'll do is to go out and seeker other people who could contribute more of what we have here AND provide more people to go back-and-forth with in the area of my relentless silliness and occasional bad taste.

today's activity was GREAT, btw... maybe because it was friday? so here's a music video i enjoyed to contribute:
http://www.happyfacehome.com/mtv/girl-o ... is-way.swf

P.S. i like "REALLY GENERAL" staying exactly that way (one area only) because it encourages topics wandering all the hell over the grid like subby on a bender, then coming back for the kill, so to speak.

I obviously missed this whole thread...I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well nic, my dad has similar problems, and I am sorry I don't spend a lot more time here, plz understand, my life is messed up too and the games and forums are an escape, lately I have been trying not to escape that much and get some things straightened out but it's slow going...that doesn't mean I/we have gone away or that your presence is any less significant to me/us...

thanks very much for your kinds words, loc. and yeah, i know we have some problems in common, like the hand stuff for one and life spiralling in downward directions. i'm very glad to hear you are making some progress, tho, and understand your absence better now. you and unscathed were my first arma buddies, and that tends to get remembered. :)

so a toast to my online friends here:
