clan messaging boards...

Post by 2020 »

i just tried to access wpn's site
to post up a simple message
requesting that they stick their names on the challenge board
however
i have to register first

and then i remembered why i haven't advertised
it is so tedious
to go around and post

can't clans have just one part of their forum
open
so that anyone can write a message?

they may have to deal with a lot of gunk
but
it doesn't take long to weed out the spam...

anything for an easier life...
hold the line

I have seen an open forum where spam came in bursts of 30 and 40 (imagine deleting that with at least 4 clicks per post (or 3 plus a delay) and relatively slow response), just a few months after the first spam started to appear.

Well, I especially dislike the forums where you have to register to read what's there. I want to see whether it's worth registering first.

on our forums, as well as Xzl's i believe, we have a section for guests to post without needing to join the site

lol 2020 we do have a section for guests to post, but maybe it's not that clear to you...under the challenge us section anyone can post even if they aren't registered. I didn't want to make a section for unregistered guests because of all the spam and people could post under fake names etc. Here's a quick link for you: http://www.forumsvibe.com/wepwnnoobs/po ... wepwnnoobs

SD and SP do that as well, I believe, although I'm not positive SD does.

@ Jonathan: you can just split the topic & delete it, right? Or am I thinking of something else...
