Ya, we have those little buggers where I live. They crawl out of the ground and hang out in the trees. Their sound, I believe is created by rubbing their wings together and is kind of cool. Its starts in the distance and spreads out in waves, covering the whole neighborhood. Like a large stereophonic surround sound system.
They seem totally harmless until the cat drags them in and you step on them with your bare feet in the dark making a unwanted crunching gooey sound.
With the quantity they expect, I can see them causing a problem on the roadways. We have had problems with too many mayflies covering a lit bridge turning the surface into grease causing accidents. Weeee Boom

Ahh we had a lot of those buggers in melbourne in summer htis year, did you know they are the loudest animals in the world, upto 115 dB or more i believe.

Frizza and I where riding our bike along a bike path next to a train line where there where a lot of them all the way along and our ears were VERY sore afterwards!

but not too long because we had a all you can drink x-mass party at the end but thats a whole different story.

Do you know that misty feeling you get in some forrests under some trees? especially wet forrests? 90% chance the mist is from those little buggers pissing all over you!

Nice thing to think about. I hate it when lady bugs poop on your hand when you are just trying to admire them. Kinda makes you wanna squish it but instead you just flick it away. 8) Those cicadas are very interesting. They don't seem very pleasant though.

I think a closer analogy would be waiting 17 years to be born after conception.

I work with a few people in the area that's suppopsed to be hammered hard with these things starting any time now.

You may be sick but it doesn't show on the grid. Man, I thought I was getting better but then I began doing terrible. In fact, I have noticed that in general, I do a lot better when there is less people. Just the feeling that we have the grid all to ourselves. Hope you feel better.
BTW-I entered two dollar bills into the site. One of them had a stamp on it telling me about the site and I think it is really neat to see where your dollars really end up. 8)

hmm is it 20 or 10 (is there tens?) dollar bills that are so popular among criminals? 100? i just figured out a very creative way for anyone to express their deathwish lol. it wouldn't even work in a movie/screenplay but i'm giving it a shot):

- phone rings
- yakuza/mafia/triad picks up reciever
- dofus says: " hey mr [insert appropriate stereotypical name] i have some money here that used to belong to you! now what do you say to that eh?!"
...

ok ok sorry that my loonyness was a bit below par today - ill do better some other day :?
