What do you mean, number? The manufacturer and product ID? Well, then, go to the portforwarding.com link from some posts ago, and don't be shy and tell us what router you found :)

What do you need the master password for?
Anyway, if you have a computer acting as router, then there is some software running there that emulates a router. Is the computer a mac, too? Which OS is it running exactly? I bet an "internet sharing" (that's what MS calls it) application comes with every mac, and I'd also bet someone here knows how to make it open the ports.

OTOH, you could just run your server on the computer that acts as a router, then you don't have to bother with port forwarding. It'll be running 24/7 anyway, so there will be no need to keep another computer (yours) running all of the time, which is required for a successful server.

Yeah, if you have a computer acting like a router, then that's your router. It might not be the small box we've been talking about though. :)

There is some standard internet sharing thing that can be enabled on Mac OS X, but there's next to nothing to configure, and it's not clear about what it actually does or what low-level things it uses.

To help you solve your port forwarding problem, we need to know exactly what is connected to what, what each part is running and how it is configured.

Shou should try to answer the questions we asked about your configuration. All of them. We still don't know
- What OS the "master computer" (I assume that is the one that manages your connection) is running
- Whether you can run software on the "master computer"
- Generally, what parts of the whole setup you have control over

Also, please try to be a little more verbose and clear (really, puncuation and putting words into the correct order helps) in what you're saying. For example, where did you start internet sharing? On your own computer, it would be of little use. How did you try to connect already? You need to give us all the information you can.

Do you know what Windows version the master computer is using? At least from Windows 2000 on, port forwarding is possible. But I'm afraid you'll have to ask the owner/administrator of the master to do the setup, there is no way to do it from your machine. The question you need to ask him/her is:

"Could you forward incoming UDP packets on port 4534 to my computer?"

Note that a busy server will use quite a bit of the available upload bandwidth. Sharing the connection with others doesn't help here, using a WLAN also produces extra packet loss/lag spikes in times of disturbances, and running it on a machine that is also used for desktop work will do the rest: You may only get a server with poor play quality for everyone but yourself. I'm saying this not to stop you from even trying, but to avoid big disappointment later.
