New game mode
New game mode
I've been thinking of this game mode for a while. Its like tag, one person is "it" which means, If you don't know the rules to the game Tag, they chase the other players around untill they "tag" somone and then the "tagged" becomes "it".There would be no points just time limit and the person who is "it" when time is up loses. The "it" would get special abilities such as being able to pass thru walls, and there would be that instant respawn feature I remember seeing a while back, where there is no rounds at all just a time limit. I know both of those features aren't in normal releases yet, I don't even know if this would work on armagetron, but I think it would be fun, so would it even be possible to do right now?

I'd throw catch the rabbit on the pile. Someone starts as rabbit (white), and the rest are hunters (orange or some color). The rabbits has to survive as long as possible while the hunters try to kill it. Whoever kills the rabbit becomes the new one (the old one is respawned as a hunter), and points are awarded for the time you survive as rabbit and killing hunters (and reduced for hunters killing other hunters). There'd be a time/score limit.

(I'm personally of the opinion that there are still a lot of fundamentals in the game that need to be fixed, optimized, or improved before new game modes and special features are introduced, but that's clearly not the 'philosophy' of the development team. To wit: Hey, at least we have fortress and maps!)
