getting the new 2.8.0

ok so I had to dowload the new 2.8.0 thingy because there was bugs on the old one, right. so I get it I set the whole thing up it all goes fine no problems what so ever. but then!! then I click on the Armagetron.exe and you know what happens? it says: var directory is not writable or does not exist. so not really knowing anything about computers I just look for the var file so I find it in like 10 seconds and then I click on it, it is all fine (i think) and everything looks good, so I try it again, samething. so I imagine this is probably really easy to fix but I dont know how. I would really like to get it fixed so I can play some more tron.
