Oh dear, that is indeed bad.

Thing is, adjusting it downward (especially if it were altered to work as I described here) can be a good thing. What to do?

/me thinks about making a shotgun map where the cycles are the bullets.

dylan: As Silly says, this setting is meant to reduce the acceleration effect of "wall humping" because some of us consider it a cheap tactic. Of course, it has to be < 1 for that... well, whatever pleases you.

Silly: leave it in, of course. Nobody forces us to play on a server that has settings we don't like

You're right, z-man. I also noticed CYCLE_RUBBER 30. One more reason to avoid it. Easily done. Still, it's disappointing that these are the only kind of "new" servers going up anymore, at least as far as free-for-all goes. It's also kind of ridiculous and basically redundant since they're all very minor variations on the same theme anyway. Hey, they're the Wal-Marts of Armagetron Advanced! Heh, there's even an analogy with the clansters : "associates." Ahem, pardon me. Anyway....

ok, we already have an iron [Fe] clan. Lucifer's imaginary clan [Pb] makes lead... this makes a possible 118 "Elemental" clans. Let's see how many will come

Hmm. Maybe it would be better to make and [Ra], maybe even [Tc]. This would explain why most of them disappear after a while.

I keep looking to see if there's an Fl element. You'd think Fluorine, but Fluorine's "F", isn't it? Anyway, fl would be "Fortress Losers" and would be free and open membership to anyone who's not fe.

FL is for Florida
And coincidentally, i certainly belong in FL. What happenned to the good old days when fortress was new, and no one knew what to do, and there was no such thing as goaltending...
or breaking
or anything like that
