Hi all,

Sorry, i do not speak English, this text was translated .

My play solidifies or is blocked.

The error is as follows:

Image

When I reconnecte quickly, my pseudo is always present in the play !
There are 2 The Wall in the room.
That can occur 4 or 5 times before I can connect myself.

I have Windows xp ; I had the same error with Armagetron 0.2.7.

I thank you for your assistance . I am desperate !

salut The Wall !
<telling him about the "Othe Languages" forum>

That seems odd. Have you tried the gcc version of 0.2.8.0_rc3? Both an upgrade and using the gcc compiler for Windows.

I have armagetronad-0.2.8_beta3,win32.exe
beta4, gcc and vc6 do not function.
How to employ the gcc compiler for Windows?

Walking Tree, I will put the question about the forum that you indicated to me
(I learned a little English, but at 50 years, not easy! )
(I am not the oldest player of tron?)

Perhaps Philippe will have the answer when it comes.

I think I've encountered someone older, but I don't remember who it is or how old he was. So freewheelin' stands at 57, until someone comes along to say they're older. :)

Salut the wall!

Si je comprend bien ton dernier message, tu as essaye deja plusieur versions beta (beta 3 et beta 4). Nous sommes desormais aux rc, Release Candidate. Tu les trouveras sur http://beta.armagetronad.net/. Dis-moi si ca resout ton problème.
[Check out the rc's, it's our latest version]

To all: This really doesn't sound like an AA problem, but something broken at the OS/library level. Otherwise it wouldn't systematically break on all the versions he tried. In my very limited experience with Windows, I'd say we need to find the broken library/module and have him re-install it. Does anyone support this? Do you know of simple way to identify the delinquant and/or of way to re-install alll of windows' components?

The library is the msvcrt.dll library, which is part of Microsoft Visual Studio. It's the C library. It seems that his system, for some reason or other, is loading one that is probably different than the version AA was compiled with.

He should try the GCC builds and see if they work. They don't depend on msvcrt.dll.

Now, how could his system be loading the wrong one? Maybe some other program he's got installed one and we didn't install the one we built with? Could be lots of reasons. Teh solution is usually to get the msvcrt.dll we built with and put it in the installation directory. The solution I'd prefer is to deprecate support for msvc in favor of gcc-based systems. :) Free Software is worthless if you need a proprietary compiler and all.

Nemostultae and Philippeqc, thank you, I downloaded and installed version RC3. Several days without bug, and it is the paradise!

I have professional Windows xp, and I already carried out a repair without succés.

Tank Program and Lucifer, it would be necessary that I install MinGW Developer Studio?

Tank Program,what SDL?

Highly how I would be in retirement, I will have more time to divert me with tron!

No, installing a program built with GCC doesn't require a development environment. :) You only need that if you want to develop.
