IPv6

For things that have to do with those crazy test servers... and yeah. By request of z-man, and, of course, you gotta obey...

IPv6

Post by 2020 »

please remember i am a complete idiot when it comes to technical stuff...

is there a way for my computer to directly hook up to the test server
so that my ping is as low as it can be?

is this built in to your software?
or do i have to go through some kind of manual hookup?
and does this involve IPv6

i did warn you...
i know virtually nothing

what I do which gives good results is to run my client on the same pc as the dedicated server (please no flames )

to connect to the server I put 127.0.0.1 into the custom connect address and im in, often see my ping as 1 and its rare that it goes above 8 unless I invite others in

thanks
iceman
i thought of that
if my computer was host to the game

however
i was wondering if i could manually address the CVS test server?
not sure if IPv6 makes this faster somehow...?

No, IPv6 is almost never native. Instead, it is encapsulated. Therefore, it would be slower.
