Thanks to an arrogant and idiotic server owner like Sylv i will quit playing Armagetron now. It's just no fun anymore.

Background story:

Vertigo and i were admins on armagetron.de (former Cristis Server) and all was fine. Now Sylv choose to revoke admin rights (for unknown reasons), so that server is now admin-free. And he even doesn't answer our eMail or answers questions, that arrogant guy. Since a week i try to play there but it's not really a joy thanks to so many lagging bots, fakes, insults and more "nice" people. I really tried to be a good admin and be friendly as much as possible but that behauviour is not the way i want to be treated anymore. Sylv - you may ignore me and Vertigo out of arrogance or stupidity but that's not the right way to treat long-term players. Without in-game admins your server will become "idiots" playground unless you play 24/7 and keep it clean yourself.

However, i quit now but wanted to say goodbye to Tank Program for a good and fun time on his Tigers Network Classic Play. Was a real good time and i met lots of great people there, some of them i even call friends now in real life

I wish you all the best in life and Tank, i hope you will get Tigers Network Classic online again, and please - don't become so arrogant and small-minded like Sylv, please.

You sure sylv didn't just screw up his config? And that your emails aren't bouncing off a spam filter or something?

I'm curious why you guys need ingame admins to keep a clean server I realize there are occasional dipshits on my own servers, but for the most part it's pretty clean, and there's only one ingame admin (me). Same on Fortress (except I'm not the ingame admin there, no matter how many people want to think I am). The server's pretty clean. Sure, there are occasionally dipshits that show up, but you can rely on the other players to muster up a vote to kick them.

Anyway, sorry to see you get so disenchanted. Enjoy your, um, vacation. Looking forward to seeing you back (they all come back, always).

My ping to armagetron.de is always crappy, so I don't go over there. Crappy as in borderline unplayable. It used to require a special planetary alignment for me to play on Tigers for the same reason.

Yes, i am pretty sure - it's just pure Sylv. And yes, i know - it's his server anyway and he can pretty do what he wants with it but it's not a real nice way to treat people.

There is no vote kicking on armagetron.de. I tried to play on sunday if i remember correctly, and the server was full of, hmm, lets call them idiots. With vote kicking enabled they would have kicked me off that server

Well, never say never .. maybe i will fire up my own server once in a while, just to have a play with nice people. We' ll see.

So - after various insults and offendings against my person (yesterday on arma.de was ony the climax), loss of playing culture, lagging, camping and so on I´ll take the same consequence as Norm did.
After 1 1/2 years of armagetron I´m off too.
I can take critics but not every time I play and not in a rude language.

I also wanna wish the developers all the best and wanna say THANK YOU for your engagement. You guys did and do a great job.

I can recognize what verti and norm's saying.. it has been pretty annyoing for a little while.. and very the last days.. i asked sylv about admins too some days ago and havn't got a reply.. but ofcourse.. i don't know it it's a mail he's using anymore.. so i doesnt take it that serious.. i've been wondering a little where he has been the last days.. havn't seen him on the server at all.. so havn't had the chance to ask him..

ofcourse theres no big problems on fortress lucifer.. camping around the zone is legal there and the rounds end very quickly
i don't play there though.. i was kicked from there on vote because i had one on my team chasing me.. he couldn't kill me.. but he ruined my game.. si i kiilled him and got booted out after 3 vote-rounds that kept popping up.. that sucked.

usually christis/sylv/tigers has been very clean.. but there has allways been admins on.. they are popular.. and most of them atracts idiots..
some of the other servers has it as a legal thing to camp because their walls isn't infinite.. it's very boring in my oppinion. .but other likes it and that's fine with me.. and gives less reason for others to get mad.. because everything is legal.. allmost..
but then they have to follow the rules on the other servers..otherwise they should get a nice footprint in the ass..
i'm going in and play some armagetron on de.. but i surely would like either some changes in the admin-system or that norm put up a permanent server(why don't you.. when you have the config from something like tigers classic or christies?

Its his active eMail address .. a few weeks ago he was answering via that address. Sylv was on some sort vacation a week ago. But he is back for some days now, he was even playing on the server and Vertigo spoke with him.

I do have those settings somewhere, yes. But my server is a 500 Mhtz Celeron standing in my kitchen, connected via DSL2000 .. and thats not enough for lag-free gameplay for more than 4 players. And sometimes i have to use the same line for surfing and downloading. Sorry.
