help with making a server on dedicated server for windows

could some one tell me how to make a server on the dedicated server for windows casue i have no idea of what to do?
best take care when the reapers about or ya just might be taken to the realm of death to stay forever more.

well, i've done everything that you said, but i still cant put on line my server, my friends see my ip but with an unreachable, and for a reason my server doesnt replyes, i have windows 2000 workstation, and i dont have firewall so... if anybody can help me to put up my server, thanks

I dont have a router, and (i dont know if this is the problem) when i put VIEWPORT_CONF it appears a number 0

VIEWPORT_CONF is without significance on a dedicated server.
So, your server appears on the master server list for your friends? Since the master does its own polling, that would mean it is reachable from somewhere. What is its IP so I can check?

The main master log shows your server loggin in (several times) and initial polls to the server succeeding. So it's not all messed up. Later, contact is lost (maybe because you have a dynamic IP, and that changed). So far, so good.
The backup master however never managed to make contact to your server, although it was informed of its existence immediately. Are you absolutely sure you don't have some kind of firewall? I'd expect a "keep in the background" firewall to accept packets from a peer it previously made contact to (the main master), but reject those from other peers (like your friends, or the backup master).

well, im sure that i have no one installed on my pc, and w2000 doesnt uses a system deafult firewall, so... i dont really know if i've opened the ports, but if they arent opened, i dont know how to do that :P

And you're directly connected to the internet with a modem? If so, I'm clueless. Win2k has indeed no mechanism built in of that kind.

This sounds like the bug that other's have had with an earlier 2.8 beta. Here's another thread that this post reminded me of, why don't you try Lucifer's suggestion towards the middle of the thread:
