Digital Logic .. is a bit of a mix.

When I was younger I was ruled by my emotions more (as younger folks tend to be).. this didn't serve me well as I got older. So I recognized the character flaw and changed.

Over the last several years of my life I've tried to think critically about myself and my surroundings. Attempting to use as much forethought as possible in everything I do.

The short form way of describing this for me was to call it being "Logical". IOW.. is it "logical" to maintain composure in business rather than ranting and raving about the inadequacies of others.

The 'Digital' part just seemed to fit as I would primarily be using the handle in the 'digital world'.

It also allows me to develop a 'computerized' character. I've been accused of being a BOT more times than I can count. =)

Using something from the 'real world' as a handle just seemed to defeat the purpose for me. Otherwise I coulda called myself something unoriginal like Racer758 (my motorcycle racing #'s)

Luckily I invented a name that allows for a lot of fun:

The outcome... was only logical.
Digital Logic gives you the logical digit.
Keepin' it on the DL.

It's a hell of a lot easier for people to spell than lacksidasical too!

Nothing "Special" about it. Not from MIB. First initial of first name. :D

Ok here it goes:

Many eons ago when i first went on IRC - (ausnet.org) circa. 1995 I had to think of a nick, since i had just finished my Applied Physics degree. I decided on the unoriginal name of

SubAtomic

Off course when youare chating people would use

Subby

This is how i became

subby

At the time i was still on IRC 3 years or so ago i came up with writing my nick upside down, hence

hqqns

I've since retired the nick subby as hqqns is much cooler and its just interesting to see how quick or SLOOOW people catch on to the fact that its upside down.

The quickest to ever get it, and i doubt will ever be beaten was Communist, I came in as hqqns for the first time and 4 seconds later recognised it was upside down. MAny people, even when telling them its upside down, just dont see it ;)

I have split off the TV Nostalgia comments into their own thread as I don't want to muddy the waters of this great topic. You can find the nostalgia postings here:

Maybe, but I'm still interested. Come on over and discuss your early childhood television experiences.

Ok, that's the last I'll post about it under this topic. :)

heynow, haven't looked at this thread for ages... didn't realise there was still some juicy info happening...

i happened to look up 'hqqns' the other day on goshdarn stats and was amazed to find you had 100+ wins sitting there... already the #2 player and have more wins than counted?? my deep thoughts at that moment: wow!

the firstime i saw your nick it was as the signature here... for some reason i got it right away, maybe because there was a whole sentence as an example.

apropos... i remember countless times commie would show up incognito and i would figure his butt out sson enough... red bike color/ridiculous ping adjustment/playing style/attitude. even when he altered these things you came to expect him. i wish i could remember all his silly nicknames... "eating oranges", "lag", "not subby" & stuff...

BTW, what did you wind up applying your physics to?

Armargetron, lol

seriously though, my PhD thesis was on corrugated boxes, lol, can't say more, it's confidential... how funny is that!

However im still waiting for the thesis to be finished in examination.

So you can't call me Dr Crocatiel yet;)

when you get a chane, check out the score for ( . )( . ), thats me too and obviously "crocatiel" and who knows how many other nicks i've used. Commie is the same, heaps of different nicks.

I came up with the name Frizza because one of my best friend's boyfriends calls me frizza to identify me from the other 5 or 6 Kathryns, Kates, or Kathys in our circle of friends.
He came up with the nickname of frizza because my hair is curly, and can get a little frizzy at times, thus Frizza.
Don't try! It's the first step towards failure!
