OK, so, to repeat myself, SD is plainly, patently, undeniably, f'ing nuts. He reveals more and more of it every time he posts. We've gone from extreme fundamentalist insanity, which we already knew, to this wacko conspiricitis. Now, I'm a capital-S Skeptic, associated with the Skeptics Society, and we believe in trying to counter this kind of incredible irrationality and ignorance with education and so forth. But when I come upon someone like SD, whose mind is so thoroughly entrenched in what would otherwise be considered psychotic delusion were it not so popular, I'm compelled to throw my hands in the air, call him a loony, and walk away, hoping against hope that he doesn't spread his irrationality too far. So that's what I'll do. It would require far too much time, energy, and information to attempt to parse and correct his claims. So why bother? By the way, has anyone seen his website? Art Bell would be proud.
So, I just make a couple comments on a couple comments.

I think you have it backwards. A large part of what led to this mess is the fact that Bush's idea of problem solving is to take money
away from programs—unless it's the military or corporate welfare (though, they cut quite a bit from the military as well, but only the human side; e.g., the VA, salaries, and the now-infamous body armor). It also doesn't help that they moved FEMA from being an independent agency to being under the control of the Fatherland Security Dept., with a director appointed by virtue of political favor, and its budget cut.

Well, you see, that's what separates your forums from these. Here, free-thought and expression (and even brainwashed zealotry), as well as debate, aren't generally squelched and censored by a bunch of scared, pollyannaish web-totalitarians.

Besides, SD initiated the digression by implying that New Orleans deserved it, a victim of his god's wrath.
