OK, guys. I will forget the whole match play thing for right now. But let's have some fun some how else. How about a Horserace?

This is where about ten to twelve ppl take off at one time and fight for themself. At the end of the match everyone below a certain score would leave and those who were above it would keep competing. You keep raising the minimum score until there are 2 players left. Then who ever wins that last match would be the winner unless they were both over the minimum score. If there are enough players we will split it up into flights. That would make it really fun. And more than one player would win. What do you guys think about this?

I must say, I'm a bit dissapointed in the acceptance of new ideas here. Both in this case and the case of the fellow with the Jump idea. Seems like everyone is at first pouncing on the idea, not giving it the benefit of the doubt or anything.

Personally, I kind of like the idea, and I wouldn't be too opposed to playing in this thing some. Not so much to care about the rankings but to have a good game or two. Most everyone is saying that this is a bad idea, but they're looking at it from the perspective of the rankings, not of actually playing and having some fun. If I'd posted an idea and gotten this sort of response that woulda been the last anyone woulda heard of me, and I would say that's a bad thing. Try to be a bit more friendly m'kay? And don't reply to this, just think about it some.

GUYS WTF...Lighten up for god's sake!

I mean this is for FUN not to shove in other peoples faces!

And it makes arma cooler cos of CLAN RATINGS and which infact would be awesome so the clans are more competitive..Right now they just all kinda sit around not minding eachother like they used to..BUT don't be a pain in the ass and start banning other clans from servers..This is bad sportsmanship!

I've got to say, i think it's a real good idea to have some kind of organization in any game
it just makes sense to have it
it's just, this being a game constantly under development, and being played mostly by... well... critical people, we'll say, it'd need a fairly extensive set of rules to cover all the different, how would you say it, permutations of situations that occur
I saw nemo talking about having rankings for different things like most core dumps and best at running and all sorts of stuff, well... that's junk, i doubt this would be an nba type thing.

Anyway, what i thought of right away when i saw this was, cool, and then, how?
still mulling over that last question, but it's a good idea

for those that go on about there being an elite group of players playing arma, i tend to agree. Shoot, i even think i'm one myself, at least in the lobster cage >-;;,ccc3 (i believe i just basically asked people better than me to go into the cage and whoop me around. darn.)

That's just another reason FOR organized play rather than against it. It's not a search for the best, it's just a way of getting some kind of concrete recognition rather than a set of people that groan when you enter.

on the other hand, maybe i just don't get out of the cage much, but what are classic and nixda?

This is an idea worth following, especially if you could, i don't know, record a match, like a live recording of each player's doings during a "league" match, and then put it up on a site like self destructo's. Might attract more people to look at AA. no matter what the elite group of players say, more people is always more fun.

as for the lag side discussion that ucifer was having with jonathan, well, you're right, i live in miami, and i live with hurricanes. deal with it

(weird that on family forums we talk about killing people, but can't talk about that other thing. I know it's not Tank's deal so much as society's weird fascination with murder and desire to cover up loving and make it something shameful)
