iPhone blocking anonymous callers

I know this is not at all an IT support forum but I am little bit clueless at the moment and thought maybe one of you had this issue before.
A friend of mine owns an iPhone and keeps getting calls by someone hiding his number. I tried to find a way to block callers that hide their numbers but everything I find doesn't seems to work.

I tried:
- several anti virus apps that have the ability to block anonymous calls on Android but as it seems not on iOS (avast, Avira,...)
- blocking every call from a number not saved in contacts (doesn't fit)
- something called 'TrapCall' but that seems to be only available in the US

Maybe someone has an idea if not the last plan is to get a new phone number.

He's asking how to ignore anonymous callers, not how to stop them from trying to call you

Since it isn't my iPhone I told my friend to try it and she said she is not able to block contacts.. Only numbers..
I try to get access to an iPhone somehow since that sounds a little strange to me lol. At least on Android it works.
