If you believed all along that he threatened to, and could hack the forums; haven't you just gave him the biggest reason to?

...Ok two questions.
Should we "watch it", or you never believed he would, or could, so much, that we can all relax?

Edit: I'm not trying to keep this going, but banning him if you believed any of it was a "threat", and believed that he can do it, puts everything in jeopardy more than his "threat" ever did.

It might have been somewhat rhetorical but I still want other people's answers / thoughts on it.

I don't know if your first language is English (so I won't dis you) but I only understood what you meant before the end of that conjunction.

I can take a shot at what you meant, and that is that you think exactly what I said in my second to last post... Which is: he's now gave him reason to
So therefore, he never believed he could in the first place.
I don't see the threat (neither does Tank, on the basis that he banned him).
I, myself, see Durf as a realist, he doesn't talk shit, or pick on slight things (like me or you), he see's it how it is, and he may have to be technical about it, but that's only because you all seem to need to be told a reason why he asks you to answer his questions... The reason is obvious; it is a question put to you (No other reason).
I dunno if anyone else see's this, or if it's just us, but wtf?

Maybe what you say is more socially acceptable, but that's not the case when it comes down to who's in the right.

To his mind, it certainly would look like a reason, yes. But that can never be a reason for us, or every asshat is going to say "ban me and I'll hack you" from now on.

And any damage he can possibly do is only very limited and temporary. Tank is making backups and taking permanent control over a system is near impossible. And frankly, Durf's talk about his abilities is full of hot air, here and elsewhere. I'm not worried.

The bar/party example by Lucifer and Z-Man was pretty good, but Durf is more like a guest with a washing tick who threatens to break into your dirty house (actually, there's just a small puddle in the kitchen) so he can clean it up and throw you out. (I said this to someone on the grid a few weeks ago, I think)

@Dinobro: I thought that too, but it's Convict. Same for Nelg if he still thinks Durf can hack the forums to expose security issues. Ugh.
