Religion restricting advancements in technology, constant wars, among a slew of many other possible reasons. I'm not going to discount innovators of the light bulb's genius, but it likely would have been invented much earlier if not for a huge amount of reasons. Also to one of your earlier comments, there are many theories about the pyramids, try and keep your mind open about the mysteries of the past.Word wrote:Why do you think did it take so long for someone to come up with the lightbulb (as a classic example)? ?
Anyways my 4/20 was good, I personally don't smoke weed but I had a great day anyways. As a little story about weed, My dad used to smoke weed in high school. Before smoking my dad was a D student, partly because his father made him work, but after he started smoking weed he was able to focus. He was able to focus on school extremely well and was so focused that he could do calculus easily. Weed can definitely have benefits in thinking ability, varying from person to person. I know of no medicine that would have the effect of causing focus. My father no longer smokes weed though, he says that the weed of today no longer does the same thing and rather turns him into a zombie like state where he just goes with the motions. Probably either due to diminishing weed quality, or because weed is stronger than it used to be. I wouldn't know since I have never tried it.
I hear that weed is used to treat adhd, something my dad may have had since I had it. A problem with ADHD is lack of focus, and the weed could have remedied that for my father. Me I took the strongest medicine available for around 8 years to keep me calm and focused, but tbh it put me in more of the zombie state my dad calls it rather than pure focus, meaning that the weed that he had when he was in highschool would likely have been a better treatment for my adhd than medicine was.
Anyways this was just an example to show you what weed is capable of. It is capable of helping some people expand their current mental abilities drastically. Weed is also capable of making happy things even happier, or the bad things in life seem happy. It makes people feel good, and in a controlled manner I don't see a problem with that. Also, there is no need to be so mean to convict. You all understand the point he is making, and you all know that inspiration can be caused by drugs. Drugs have the ability to alter your mental state and can spur instantaneous inspiration, the same as a dream could. That being said, they can have many negative effects on your mental state as well, I'm just saying it is possible and has definitely occured in history.
