AoT servers run 0.2.9-sty+ct, you can use them. Someone just remind me to add the cfg's after brackets are created.
Re: Brawl 36 | 11th January | Sign Up!
Did the brackets and auth file is up.
If you can add the .cfg sine, we're fine.
Open team still needs some players, if anyone needs a spot.

theo FR3 is upTru wrote:It needs servers
Feel free to test it before using it (I don't guarantee anything).

Thx Theo
I used the server distributor(which has only brackets size 16 and 32) to just get a order of servers and used that in the brackets. It's not really the proper way I guess but since we're only 3 teams I don't think anyone minds.

The AoT Server Distributor arranges the servers in a specific and somewhat confusing way designed for Ladle. Most tournament organizers determine their own rules for server placement. For Brawl:*16 wrote:TI used the server distributor(which has only brackets size 16 and 32) to just get a order of servers and used that in the brackets. It might be interesting to make the Server Distributor work for 4 and 8 teams. I'll look into that sometime this year. Maybe I can add a randomizer too.wiki.arma wrote:"Servers will then be placed on the bracket randomly. Following this, the listed teams will be randomized and loaded into the bracket."
Re: Brawl 36 | 11th January | Sign Up!
Yeah, it works pretty good. Would be cool if works for 4 and 8 size brackets too!
For the teams I just used the randomizer from ladle tools, but it does a bit weird. If it gives you the code back you just get a "!randomteam4 ctfTeam ctfTeam ctfTeam"
I guess that's because the team template from ctf is kind of different from the ladle one. Thx Sine!

Oh dear. That Ladle tool is not a randomizer, but prepares a team list for randomization using the IRC bot. The function is "!randomteam" the "4" is the number of seeds and the rest is just the teams in order they signed up. This entire list is supposed to be pasted into #armagetron and the bot spits out the actual randomization.*16 wrote:For the teams I just used the randomizer from ladle tools, but it does a bit weird. If I get time I will try and make a tutorial and add more info to the Ladle Tools site. I admit it does not tell you a whole lot. Sorry!

I'm available for any open teams!
Re: Brawl 36 | 11th January | Sign Up!
Lol! You understood me a bit wrong I think! I know it's to use for irc. But in order to use it on irc, it needs a text like this" !randomteam4 firstteam secondteam blabla blaba " with that words being names of teams. But for some reason if you use the wiki code from the team list from brawl it always calls the teams "ctfTeam". So if you put in or irc you get something like this:sinewav wrote:Oh dear. | RD1-team01=ctfTeam
| RD1-team02=~bye~1
| RD1-team03=ctfTeam
| RD1-team04=ctfTeam
Here was the randomization: http://crazy-tronners.com/kyle/random/r ... 074842.txt
So no worries! It took me some time to figure out the first time I did brackets, but if you read the instructions which the randomizer gives it's not that difficult.

Re: Brawl 36 | 11th January | Sign Up!
To do it in past I used IRC bot which lives on freenode:wiki.arma wrote:"Servers will then be placed on the bracket randomly. Following this, the listed teams will be randomized and loaded into the bracket."
<ihptru> ]randomserver s1 s2 s3 s4 s5 s6 s7 s8
<orabot> | s8 s4 s5 s2 s7 s6 s1 s3 | s4 s2 s6 s1 | s4 s1 | s4 |
simple code for it is public too
